On the fence... Framus Dragon.

I am contemplating selling my Framus Dragon. I *like* it but I have too many amps that overlap, but it's not a *love* thing. It's in great shape and if I sell it it will be FB Market Place or CL, I really really don't want to ship it.

My only hesitancy is that I don't know how hard it would be to find another if I regretted it. There aren't a ton of them around (I realize that its not a Cameron thing or anything), and I just don't know.

I have enjoy playing it, but I could love something else more.

If I sell/trade it, it's strictly for another amp and it's not a rush. I am just considering it. It's going to be posted as a feeler and not just dumped.

Whatcha' y'all think?
 
If you think you will regret it, you probably will. That is what I have learned. Plus, it looks like you have a lot of other amps, so why rush?

No rush at all. I do have a lot of other amps, I think that I am going to take it out of rotation and think about it.

I think I will put it up for trade offers and see what I get, and really think about it heavily.
 
Supposedly some Dragons are much better than others. Apparently they were inconsistent in sound and reliability, and the earlier ones without the external bias points were supposedly better. May want to consider that.

I will look into that. Mine has the bias points. I don't question the quality as it has been babied by me and the prior original owner.

I’m sorry, I forgot to mention, my point was that if you have a good one, you may want to keep it. :D
 
I wouldn't sell it if you really like the amp. They're hard to find, and you will probably have to sell it pretty cheap.

There was one for sale here locally for $800 Canadian (about $638) and it was up for sale forever. I actually should have grabbed it myself, but I had other priorities at the time.

I have an offer on a Rev G Dual Rec. I may take that.
 
I would just keep it. Simply put, even if you don't play it much it's still there and you'll never question your decision as japetus said. And why I tracked down a mint SigX, last year. Those are really incredible amps. Had regretted letting mine go years ago even though it was not my number one.

On the other hand this is the exact reason why I do not like having alot of amps. Usually no more than two. I have three now.

Reason being once I find "my sound" I rarely deviate. And if I do it's because something can do "my sound" better. For example, my new EVH...when I play it, it's dialed in as close as possible to my JVM. Same with my Sig X. Granted neither can get there 100% or better "for me", so I generally stick with one thing. Been that way for me for decades. I think of all the amps I've owned since the 80's, there's been three that I used the most.

But I get it, some guys just like having lots of amps. And it certainly gives you lots of options lol. And I'm that way with guitars lol.
 
The hard lesson I've learned over the years is to not sell unless you NEED the money. You'll almost always regret it.

I recently sold off most of my amps though, so clearly that lesson hasn't stuck with me... LOL.
