.....lives right in my back yard

Tommy Crook!!

When Johnny Carson asked Chet Atkins if there was anyone better than him he said "Yes Tommy Crook from Tulsa Oklahoma"

Feast your eyes.....

oh my gosh - another me... this is so strange
but very cool

Never heard of him but unique, great at what he does.

Will anyone go out and buy his CD ?

"Greatest" is a big statement. Tommys' no slouch in this style, check out some of his live vids.

"Greatest" is a large statement, so I will add IMO. Although, some would argue that Chet Atkins was one the all time great guitar players and he didn't add "IMO" after the statement he made on the Tonight Show. I have seen Tommy live many times while I eat red curry chicken. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen and most people have no idea what is happening just a few feet from them while they dine. If any of you pass through T-town on a Friday night and you crave Thai food, I can recommend a great restaurant with some world class entertainment.

I would have a really hard time eating in front of a guy playing the git stick like that.

All I would be able to do was watch his hands with my mouth wide open drooling like a idiot!

:2thumbsup:

Dood, his name is "Tommy", not "Tom". You're off by 2. :m9:

Jerry Reed is the sheiot........

So is Chet Atkins.........

Henry Kaiser is just plain ol sheiot! Sorry! :aww:

Heh I've heard a bunch of stories about Johnny Carson asking "insert guitarist name here," who they thought was the "best" guitar player in the world. I heard 2 versions of him asking Hendrix this question. 1 version Hendrix supposedly said Billy Gibbons, that the other version he said Phil Keaggy. I'm not sure any of the Carson questions even happend, but it makes for cool stories.

I think we all need to turn the gain down on the amps once in a while and spend some time learning a few things from Chet.
