Opinion: should i paint or leave as is

Are you going to put a gotoh Floyd in? The original bushings are larger that Floyd rose bushings. The one on the left looks sloppy. I'd fill those with maple dowels and refill for the smaller bushings. Just a thought.

Yeah i am going to fill them with dowels and re-drill for my original floyd. I also have to cut a new nut slot for locking nut.

Thanks for input guys. I am going to leave as is. If i change my mind, it will be a solid color metallic paint job. No franky stripes.

I wouldn't specifically go for a Frankie paintjob for an Ibanez, the headstock would look all wrong. But if you're going for a homebrew shredder type build, I don't think I'd go for "pristine sunburst" on an Ibanez either.

Do something else cool with it.

Gold sparkle paint would go good with tuners and headstock logo. I am not big on bursts on anything but les pauls. The way it is now has grown on me so i am torn between leaving it or painting a solid color.

Maybe don't go full Frankie, but I could see a gold sparkle background with maybe a heavy relic job or some kind of dark/non-sparkle pattern or design painted over the sparkle. Sounds weird to say out loud but who knows how it might look in person. Get weird with it!

The stock color kinda looks a bit boring. I would either do a relic job or new paint, but no Franken-style. What about yellow plus black racing stripes to match the headstock? They make you play faster

Really off topic (and late), but is there any info on that Jay Turser guitar? I used to have one a few years back without the floyd rose and can’t seem to find hardly anything on that model

I believe the model is a JT-200. Hard to find info on them. I sold mine and kinda regret it as it was a decent playing guitar and rare.

I totally forgot about this thread lol. I actually finally completed this ibanez project couple months ago lol. Sat there hanging for 2 and a half years waiting.
Nothing special. Just level crown and polished the frets and added a floyd and locking nut with Dimarzio's. Waiting to find an f spaced pickup as this one is not. Have since replaced the one black saddle with a chrome one.Plays and sounds pretty good. The neck is chunky for an ibanez!

I’ve looked up pretty well every model I can think of and there’s nothing on these. Other than the pic in this post I’ve only seen pictures of 1 other one. Mine was stolen a couple years ago and I’ve been on a mission to find more info and track one down to buy but no such luck. Cheap guitar but played great and had a really good feel. The one that got away haha
