I’m considering buying an Orange Cab to use with a Splawn Nitro, that I should have in about a week.

I’m just wondering if anyone here uses them and Enjoys them.

Used a PPC 2x12 for years with a modded Single Rec, those are beast mode.

Recently picked up an Orange Dual Dark and it’s got an attentuator, and I’m using a Suhr RL IR with it but I’m considering another Orange cab since that attenuator is so good.

I dunno how those v30s work with Splawns tho; might want to check some vids. Seems like most of the guys here running Splawns are using other speakers.

Good solid cabs man.

Thanks Man. I Have a Marshall 1960BHW Cab with the Heritage G12H30's but I was concerned the Nitro would sound weak through it.

I ran 2 Orange 4x12's for awhile, I really liked them a lot overall. One was a slant with V30's, the other was a straight with K100's. Not sure how they would pair with the Splawn, I was using them more with my Engl's at the time for metal stuff.

But they are wicked HEAVY to lug around, and no casters. Loved them in my basement jam space but hated moving them anywhere!

I used some of the PPC412's for several years, solid cabs, they work great for high gain amps whether you keep the stock V30's or swap out speakers - they're well built and have sent some other boutique brands packing.

IMO, they tend to sound great in the room, but don't mic up particularly well. They're built like a tank, though.

I really like mine. Built like a tank, and sounds great. IMO one of the most under-rated cabs out there.

Looks great on stage too!

No. I had an Orange 2x12 when I got a quick rod and Nitro. The nitro liked the orange cab better but I sold it pretty quickly and got a Splawn 2x12 with Creamback 65's. It was a gigantic improvement

PPC(???) 412 loaded with G12K100 quite some time ago.

Was one of the best sounding cabs I've ever used for heavies. Built like a brick shit house. I had a Diezel K100 412 I kept - too much overlap - and I run Diezels - so, ya, kept the Diezel

Not sure about the V30 unit, but my experience with the K100 was nothing but a delight.

I did a little shootout between the cabs and 4x12 Orange didn't work well in band mix. Overwhelming lows and somewhat muffled sound. The other cabs works much better. All was V30's and my personal ranking goes Bogner->VHT->Mesa OS->Orange.
On the other hand Orange 2x12 is on the better 2x12 You can buy.

Why don't you just get a matching 212 cab from Scott? He has quite a few speaker options he can do. More than what the drop down menu shows. If you catch him live he might even be able to make a recommendation. I have Scott's Small Blocks in my 212. Those are modeled after 55w Greenback or more like a Creamback. As others have said, I would steer away from Vintage 30s. Something about the mids of the Splawn + mids of the V30 that clash. I have a Mesa Trad with V30s and can concur.

Can we assume you play metal mostly, and rock?

My opinion I would get a Splawn with creamback 65's. You would save money over the orange and get a better choice of cosmetics.

Exactly! With the small blocks or Creambacks you will get the cab that the amp was built for. It really is that big of an improvement
