Orange Dual Baby rules but going back for one small reason

I'm so disappointed and reached out to Orange about this. The Baby 100 amps sound amazing and are convenient and compact. Unfortunately the effects loop causes this Earth shattering pop that is horrible. I don't know what is going on but it is a shame because I was getting such a great, tight, sound. The Presence control, modern tone adjust and increase in gain were all awesome.

Im getting a Super Crush 100 head for now and hoping they fix this soon. I'll immediately get another one.

Man, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve got a dual baby as well which absolutely love and have not experienced that issue, but I did read in some of the early threads after their release that some people had an issue with the loop. I’m probably one of the lucky ones.

But you’re absolutely right it is a great amp and an awesome price point with really good value. It’s loud and chugs and cleans up well with guitar volume.

I sent a message to one of the Orange reps and told him what the issue is and hoping it gets fixed. I'd definitely get another!

Do you have hiss with yours?

Did you try a standalone buffer or a buffered pedal in loop?
You know i did and that is what prompted me to finally realize it needed to go back. I thought, I dont really need to use this amp for stereo and then plugged in one pedal and "pop!!".

Its causing a pedal in the loop to pop? Probably a leaky cap on the send that's letting DC voltage onto the switch into the pedal.
Here is what I sent to them:

Plugging into just the Return jack on effects loop results in really loud buzzing and popping, etc.

Plugging into just the Send jack on the effects loop results in no sound at all.

When I plugged a patch cable into the Send and Return jacks, the whole unit was surprisingly quiet. When I added plugging into the input jack with my guitar cable I could hear a low hiss.

I found it weird that I didnt hear any sound with the Send jack.
