congrats! i'm leaning heavily towards an Ultra ii. I love the updated heel, it's my biggest gripe against my strats and Charvels. Used market is ripe with them right now.
I actually ordered the Ultra II HSS in Solar Flare today, it will arrive tomorrow.

I really love Strat tones over the years but every time I have one I don't play it much. I think I'm just done with 25.5" scale guitars. I've had a Strat for 12 years and I barely play it.
Congrats on your NGD! It looks awesome!
I go through this all the time, I buy Fenders and sell them and just play my Gibsons. I am hoping this MIM and the Ultra II HSS arriving tomorrow will be keepers, but my track record is not good.
I really like the Player II Modified, the 9.5" radius is a fine line between low action and fretting out around the 15th fret, but it is only one spot, I might need to polish the fret, may be a high spot.

Love the yellow with black pickguard. Glad you're getting dialed in to be enjoyable.

I'm predicting a bridge HB swap haha. You know ya want too. I wonder what they did with pots/wiring on this model to make a happy situation for the HB with the singles.

Since it's a lower output HB, maybe they just let it ride on the usual 250k pots.

If the taper is good on the bridge tone control, be tough for me not to drop a good ol' JB in there.
The guitar is definitely sexy looking.
I ordered the Ultra II HSS today, that should come with a Hotter Humbucker.
I never swap pickups, but you re correct, I would love a hotter humbucker in the Player II Modified, but the stock pickup is good enough.
My amps have such high gain it is OK, plus I have a TS808 or SD-1 lying around if I need more.
I packed up those pedals as my Gibsons don't need a boost to get them where I want.

Awesome ref ordering the Ultra. Definitely not a bad thing to have strats with different pickups to have some variety. Especially useful if you do any recording.

I landed on hotter pickups for a different reason than most folks. I'm a constant volume/tone knob adjuster, and high out put PUs just give me more useful range on the volume knob.

It makes clean a little harder to reach turning down the volume, but my normal cleans still have some hair so all good.

Looks like my Ultra II is arriving tomorrow, of course I will be away until Friday night, so it will be waiting for me with my wife.
I most likely will take my Player II with me, Gator ABS hardshell case for that is arriving today.
I am not a huge volume tone adjuster, but I do use the tone knobs to take out brightness.

Funny thing is, I am so used to my Gibsons that even in my Clean video above, I was on the Plexi channel with the Gain at 7 out of 10.
With my Gibsons it would have been very gainy.

I have a high fret at the 17th fret.

On my videos before the relief you could hear a couple notes fretting out.

I do have the action very low, if I raise it this would have solved that issue, but I don't like high action.
There may be one or two notes that might fret out, on the E and B string.

Alos, FedEx says there is a delay in the shipping of my Ultra II, FedEx has sucked lately.
They lost the license plate on my new car and I had to get a new one.
