I hope this isn't how her rig (and her playing) sounds all the time. :aww:

I dont really care for those sounds but I love to look at her!!!!!She's a great guitar player!!

T&A appeal is part of the package with her. No slag at all on her playing. She probably gets paraded in front of all sort of gear/events just to sell something. Hopefully she is encouraging an army of shredding hotties to conquer the world.

she was probably playing cold. it looks to be before a show. i do agree though, that was pretty bad.

not really digging the tones that are dialed in at all here - although the equipment is top notch. IMHO the weakest link here is her not understanding about the gear and being able to dial it in herself - gear is an extension of the player and it seems to me here she is only fighting the tones this dude is setting. how else do you expect to know what works for you and what doesnt if you arent the one turning knobs and experimenting? eddie van halen theory here.

She doesn't seem to familiar with the whole FX thing,it's like somebody is making her use them.

Not impressed with the tones or the playing here.

I think that she gets mileage for her playing based on her looks IMO. Ive watched a load of her vids and all I can think is that if she were a guy, nobody would be saying anything near as complimentary. Flame suit on...

QFT!

Not saying she can't play, if she couldn't play no-one would even notice her at all musically.....but yeah, love me some T&A (looks round for old Vixen and Lita Ford posters....) :-)

I'd love to see her and Jennifer Batten go at it.

And then I'd like to see them trade solos.

What's wrong with that? She's a smoking player and a hot looking chick. That's a fact of life and marketing. I've seen far less talented players get press they didn't earn, signature gear, etc. IMO she has a steeper hill to climb because the first thing everyone points out is her looks and it works against her too, double edged sword. I'd love to see the reaction to her playing if it wasn't a video and people couldn't see who was playing.

Although i'm sure we'll both get flamed over it, I totally agree with ya Kage.

Funny how we have many amazing guitarists of the newer generation like Tom Quayle, Rick Graham, Steffen Schackinger, Alex Hutchings etc.. and yet you don't see those guys getting the amount of publicity that someone like Orianthi gets, even though they're putting out great music and they can wipe the floor with most guys with their skills on the instrument.

I like her and the way she plays and sings, good songs too but smoking hot, not so much, she is ok but she is not smoking hot IMO

also 99.5% of the music buying public could care less about ones extreme proficiency on the instrument. They like hooks and a show. If you want mind bending musicianship you need to head over the symphony orchestra side of the tracks with Yo Yo Ma and those kind of cats as well as the jazz dudes from 50 years ago. They will kill almost all popular guitarists for sheer skill level. Just sayin...

Naaaaah, she's smokin' hot. At least to me. Pretty much the ideal woman for me :aww:

Tone and playing are very average. We all know by now she wouldn't have gotten the MJ gig if she didn't look the way she does. Whatever. It's the way it's always been and the way it will continue to be. :aww:

But who cares. If she gets girls and kids out there playing guitar it's cool.

Flame away... I think her playing is ok at best. Yes, she has a couple of fast runs that seem to make people believe that she is a shredder. I call bull shit. I have watched a few YT clips of chicks that crush her skill wise. I don't really care about candy pop hooks. If I want to hear candy hooks, I'll buy a Britney Spears disc. I agree that if she weren't semi-good looking that no one would even be talking about her. If you check her disc credits, you will see that Phil X actually did most of the guitar on her album.

I'm all for seeing more girls/women in the serious guitar playing world. Just show me some real playing... not a candy pop song with one fast scale run.

While I'm on this rant... guy or girl, I don't give a shit how fast you can run your scales and modes. Show me some musical thought. Show me some musical soul. Show me that you understand how to make your guitar sing- not just puke up a bunch of notes in a rapid fashion.
