I know each state is different, just trying to get some kind of ballpark figure here. Going in tomorrow to have that cracked tooth pulled...it's the last molar on the bottom (wisdom?) My dentist isn't open or I'd do the smart thing and call. Trying to figure out how much I'll have to pay after my deductible on average.

I had that same exact problem and it was around $100 for an extraction.

Just got the bill from my dentist and it was $125 or so due the the hard time he had getting it out. 1 hour of jaw pulling.

It depends. Sometimes they need to remove a bone if your tooth isn't actually visible. I had one wisdom pulled and it took 1.5 hours. Another a week from that which took 10 mins and half the price.

I was overseas though so can't help much about the price.

EDIT: Ah. there you go.

I hope it's only $100.

My tooth isn't compacted or anything and there's been a fair amount of bone loss already so he said it shouldn't be too hard to get out. :m9:

A guy I know just had one done this week in Cleveland. He said it was $500. To be honest, I have no idea how much it should actually cost.

I'm sure Rich will find this useful 5 1/2 years after posing the question

Hilarious. I was about to type a response..wow..

So what did it end up costing anyway?

(why let a good thread go to waste....)

a tooth pulling thread from 2008?????
:hys: :hys:

i had an impacted wisdom tooth and the roots of the tooth were twisted around the nerve canal so the oral surgeon knocked me out, broke the tooth into pieces before being able to extract the fragments successfully without nerve damage, and the whole deal costed me $800

Back in '98 I paid $60 to have a wisdom tooth pulled

There are always dental schools that will do it for a fraction of the cost if not free. I didn't go that route.

I'll do it for 48.00 a tooth.... 3 for 110.00 :D
I just got my obiecare certificate in the mail
