Here's a boring story...
Late fall 2007, my band did a 5 year anniv. gig.. where we played all of our original music from front to back for the first set (1.5 hours) then followed with all our home run hitters in the final set. During the first... we had over 200 people in the room that cheered and applauded, and drank, and knew every word to every song and sang along with us.
As I was packing my gear, I thought to myself... 'this has to be one of the most gratifying moments of my life'...'soak it in'.
A week or so later, my son's preschool class (he's 2.7) had one of those little 'concerts' where all the kids sing in a group. So I'm sitting there... watching them try to herd all these little tots onto a stage to whip off a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle... and they finally hustle them up there....
My boy, is nervous...as are lots of the kids... they're all looking around, and tearing up before the song starts...all quiet as mice. Jake, (mine) finally glances up and sees me smiling back at him... and he smiles real big and BELTS out "MY DADDY'S HERE!!!!"... scaring half the other toddlers to pieces and causing all the parents to erupt in laughter.
That, my friends, is a defining...happiest, un-toppable moment. I honestly felt like my life was completed with that.
Kids rule. And I had NO idea before I had mine.
