OT Does it get any better than being a dad?

Having kids is the only experience in this world that is equal parts "best time of my life and worst time of my life" , all at the same time ;)

Mostly the best time , but my kids are being listed on Ebay today with a nominal "buy it now" and best offer tag as well. Will also trade for a Komet Concorde

I love my triplets. Being a father is so much more than words can express.

My kids just turned 18 months on the 1st, and they are hitting that stride where everything is cute, funny and a learning experience.

It's put so many things in perspective on physical, mental and spiritual levels.

It's amazing.

I'm glad to see threads like this from time-to-time. As passionate as I am about guitars/gear it pales compared to my family. I won't say anything that hasn't been said yet but I am proud to be a father of 4 children (2 boys at 12 and 9 and 2 girls at 6 and 2).

Man bro, that's a good lookin' family you have there  You look nothing like I expected. You're the Clark Kent of guitar players...you definately have some killer clips

I agree (thank goodness the kids look like my wife)!

If I had a nickel for each time I hear about the way I look to me playing guitar I would seriously have a ton of nickels. I used to have long hair (essentially look the part) back in the day but cut it so that my wife's parents would approve of me a bit more. In addition, I am just a different person all around now. I actually hold a volunteer leadership position in my church. When the members of our congregation find out that I play and the style of music I listen to it shocks everyone. The adults and youth think it is cool that I have this other side to me. Got to be who I am!!

Awesome thread!

It is great to see all the love for the kids....nothing better in the world that I have found (and I have experienced my fair share ;) )

My girls are awesome (10, 4 and 6 months)....I do worry a bit about when they are older, but I am sure we are instilling the proper values.

And if that fails, I am not a small man :gethim: :gethim:

i cant wait to be a dad!! my (soon to be) wife is full term next week, but shes due in february. he can pop out at any time! its so exciting

Just thought I'd share a cip of my litle girl on her one year birthday this past December. It's the best one we got of her!

OK, if we're doing pics, here are my two monsters with Santa this past Christmas. Yes, my daughter's pic was crappily photoshopped by myself since she screamed at the thought of being held by Santa :D

I have to tell ya, Ive done some cool things in my life and experienced alot of joy doing various things but nothing , and I mean nothing can even come close to what Ive experienced being a father. There isnt a day that goes by that this fact isnt proved to me over and over again. If you arent a father, its not something that you will ever understand until you join the parent club. Its a revelation, a certain clarity where you gain this understanding of what its all about. Its an indelible, unbreakable bond and feeling of love that you could never imagine until you actually become a parent. There isnt a thing that I wouldnt happily do or give up to provide for my son and keep him safe

Just thought that Id share!!!

Kage

Cool man, I hope nothing but the best for you and your kids!
My wife and I plan to start having kids in 2-3 years max, its funny the older I get the stronger feeling I have to wanting to have kids, its weird I cant explain it.

Just kidding, looks like a happy & loving family

Thanks Knut.

Yeah, he's a huge mofo now, but that pic doesn't do him justice, he's much more cute in real - I have to look for a better one. Best thing is that he talks permanently like crazy and much better than he shoudl for his age - and gets the bilangual thing even better solved than Chloé, who wasn't really that bad, you know - she speaks even english now and french with an accent like people from belgium :D

Proud parents are wearing their purple sunglasses permanently me thinks :D

lol...that reminds me of the time when our first was born. True story. I was leaving the hospital at 2am or some ungodly hour to go home and get something to bring back, you know the whole routine.

Anyway, me and two other new dads are getting on the elevator to leave the maternity ward....all three of us were beat, but the one guy in particular looked like he'd been hit by a car.

I said to the first guy...'what did you have'?

"A boy, how about you?"

"A girl," I said.

I looked at the guy who was in real rough shape and asked him the same question...

"Both..." he said.

:D

Kage - I am with you 100% on this one. Just took my almost 5-year-old osn bowling for lunch just because he wanted too...I am not much of a bowler and with the bumpers he almost beat me - threw one strike and a spare! I got him flying in a wind tunnel around the corner form my house as well...

This is a cool thread, however, you have to admit it's pretty funny seeing grown headbangers sharing baby pics.

We get told that we have a pretty strong and consistent recipe for our kids. In fact, we get a lot of people thinking that my wife and I look alike.
