Overthinking Screamer Pedals

I still have a few individual pedals, but after getting the HX Effects nearly all of my effects are covered.
I still like running my MXR Wylde OD in one of the loops of my HX Stomp, LOL. I like it better than the SD-1 model they have in there.

My favorite of the maxon/ibanez is the od9pro+. It is cleaner than the others in the typical "clean boost" settings, and if you apply a little of it's gain in mid-boost mode(7:00-8:00)and a little more when in standard mode(8:00-10:00) this thing turns into a clearer and punchier 808/9 with an even thicker midhump at the same time.

I had a Tube Screamer about a year ago I got to use with the blue channel on my 5150-III. It was ok but took off low end and more mids than I needed with that amp so got rid of it.

With my Stealth, I really don't need a boost but my Keeley D&M works great if I need one. I'd like to delve back into trying another Tube Screamer one day. I used to have a Keeley SD-1 with the Seeing Eye Mod and shouldn't have gotten rid of it

I’d call myself a TS fan. I’ve got 4 versions in house, plus some other cool OD circuits. Ive come to really love screamers over the years and I’ll always have some version of it on my board.

favorite is still the Keeley Mod Plus.

I am super impressed with the standard Maxon OD9, too - the damn thing sounds great. Weird switch, but not a deal breaker.

the Analogman Silver Mod is very cool, particularly if you like to stack ODs.

all that said, sometimes amps refer something else. Lots of recommendations for klones circuits in here and I agree. those push in a bit of a different way.
