Ozzy died…

Definitely a sad day. Although as some mentioned already, its crazy to think that he actually got that old.

So I guess it’s starting to sink in. Lots of mixed emotions, but mostly sad to see the end of an era in music that will never be again. I don’t really know for sure how many times I’ve seen him but I think 11 times. Strangely enough I never got to see him with Randy, he left us before I got to see him and he was a huge influence. I saw him with Jake when he was just finding his feet and was out for blood, he was crushing it. Same for Zakk, the first time I saw him he was absolutely on fire. I remember seeing Brad Gillis with him and he had the most crushing Boogie tone I’d ever heard at that point in a live setup.
Hearing those songs with that tone was a real treat, and while I didn’t expect Brad to come out and stun me he absolutely did.
And then, Joe Holmes…
Holy shit!
One of the best live tones I’ve ever heard bar none. It was as near to perfect as is possible in a place that big, and he delivered it by the metric ton. He didn’t even seem to be concerned with it at the time, I guess he was used to it but I nearly pissed myself his tone was so good…
I’m gonna leave out negative business shit that happened, we all know it did and this is probably not the place for it.. it’s all been said enough times already.

In remembrance I opened up the windows of the studio and played War Pigs for the entire city where I live, 3000 watts through EAW FR253’s, hi passed at 80hz and 7500 watts low passed to a JBL SR-X twin 15 stadium sub so loud I’m pretty sure Ozzy heard it 😊
I hope he did anyway..
