Yeah, That's kind of what Im getting at. I'm pretty sure that those amps do sound better then that but you never know what's going to happen Live!! I'm just saying that sometime we stress so much on tone or Amp models vs real amp etc etc that it get's pointless because most of the time no one can predict what it's going to sound like once it hit's the PA unless you can control a lot of variables!!jerrydyer":5gpuq3lx said:I remember meeting the blackstar guys a few years back when they were unknown. Congrats. I wish I had a marketing team and money. Cool guys, one of them has one of my t shirts from an amp show back a few years. I heard those amps in person at the show they sounded way better.

Well Ralphie, I'll just say this - a large portion of the people listening to this round here or elsewhere need to invest in a quality listening source as much as they invest in their guitars and amps because I think its ridiculous that defacto good "tone" is judged by whats coming out of a massive 2" computer speaker. 99% of the time what you're hearing through the God Box speakers is not what it sounds like to the guy playing or the audience -we all (I hope) can agree on that. Listen back to that fully produced clip again - do you hear the faded in and out applause track ??? gimme a break. Does dudes mix in the edited clip sound thin and weak? yep. Does it sound like what it did on that stage? highly unlikely. Anymore I put zero faith in clips for judging what something will actually be like in person, like you said "too many variables"...so in the end I agree with appx 62.3% of your post![]()

62.3% is still more then 50% so I'll take it. One of the points I'm making is that a lot of people will stress out looking for gear or cut down a piece of equipment but in the end... when It comes to a live gig...Anything can happen and just because you have the biggest and baddest gear in some cases it wont make a difference once it hits the PA lol![]()
On another arguement, even though that performance was highly tampered with It still sounded like shit and the guitar cut out when he was playing. Odds are it didn't sound any better live. That's my story and I'm sticking to it![]()
Shows like Kimmel are recorded in advance and they usually air the same day so there is little time to re-record..so Odds are they used what the Mic captured.ke2":3uuzxp8e said:Gainfreak":3uuzxp8e said:* velcro-fly *":3uuzxp8e said:Gainfreak":3uuzxp8e said:I just wanted to point out that there are so many variables to getting a good tone and sometimes I think we all get lost in the debate and facts get lost in the heat of the argument![]()

There`s hardly any sustain at all. It was the same with the "Scream"-performance on Kimmel. I guess the sound wasn`t "all that" on stage eitherHe would`ve been better off with a JCM 800 and a ts-9...
