Very interesting! Didn't care for the PRS amps I've played so far, hope this one has something to offer.
I think you mean Mexico, not China.th3m1ke":wzfksz21 said:JimmyBlind":wzfksz21 said:I'd be very interested in playing their amps & seeing how they're designed. Amps aren't really something i'd associate with PRS.
John Suhr for example, even designs circuit boards for his amplifiers himself, so I trust him, his company, his opinion & I can justify the costs of his products.
PRS, although they make excellent guitars, do mass-produce standard instruments at custom shop prices. I'm yet to buy into PRS's pricing structure if i'm honest.
Call me cynical, but my predication is that the amp's value will likely be invested in a 'private stock'-esque wooden exterior & aesthetic beauty rather than the amp's interior design, sound & functionality.
They have some fierce competition in the high-gain amp market that's for sure.
I don't have to call you cynical.... I can just call you flat out wrong, at least in regards to what your perception of this amp is![]()
Especially since a 5150 III produced in China streets at 2k, I am willing to bet a lot of people will be more than happy with this amp and its price point but again, official details coming soon![]()

I expect it to be pretty to look at, and that's about it. Just like their guitars.

Haaa. Without wishing to start a fight, and acknowledging that guitars are a matter of subjective preference, have you actually played a PRS for any longer than 5 minutes? I understand people not liking them but to say they're all looks and nothing else is just objectively wrong.

I got that from what you said.th3m1ke":4j5frjuk said:Heritage Softail":4j5frjuk said:Aside of Rhodes, I have not heard a noteworthy new Heavy. I just want to say, and I believe someone else made the same point earlier in the thread, that when I said "heavy is coming" I meant specifically to PRS. I am in no way saying the company is advertising this as some sort of revolutionary new sound and that image/graphic was made solely by me. In short I just meant that PRS has never done anything high gain or metal specific amp wise and this is just that. Its not a different head modified, its not a two channel H tweaked - its its own beast and its meant to be mean.
Whether or not you dig it, thats obviously subjective but everyone including myself that's heard or played it is very very into it.
Well I am certainly interested.th3m1ke":4xysvs3v said:SFW":4xysvs3v said:I'm interested to hear it. With that said, unless they can bring it in around the $2k range, they will be hard pressed to do serious damage to the market.
Prepare for easy pressing.
