Interesting! But, I imagine, very expensive!?
I guess that depends on how much binding they add to the 10A top of the amp.

I toured the factory with a client. Spent time with the designer in the amp room. He knew what he was doing and had been building amps forever. Doug Sewell.

Misha (Bulb) from Periphery gave the amp a run for its money last week at the factory....

Yeah, that's my thread too   though I don't believe the number of channels was confirmed on there....

Official specs, photos and demo should be released in the next week or so.

No need for midi on my end. That little clip with Mish sounded cool. Obviously need to hear a better example but it certainly does "heavy"

You also posted it on the PRS forum.

Do you work for PRS or something? You've really gone out of your way to keep everyone updated about it.

Mike isn't employed by PRS. This amp has been in the works for awhile, there are lots of PRS fans excited for it. It really looks like this amp will be well priced and deliver the goods. Misha's comment is a pretty nice endorsement.

So what's really impressive is the opposite of what the amp's supposed to be about?
Yes, Being that the clean channel usually gets overlooked on a high gain amp.
The 5150 dirty was just as good where is the clean on that amp is ok.
If it's going to have more than 1 channel then make them all good.
And that's what stood out to me the most with the amp.
Other wise make it a single channel amp.

I lol'd.

Given that the standard sound of radio-rock the past few years has been a PRS into a Rectifier, that's kinda what I'm expecting this to be.
It sounds like the 5150 blue channel, just a little hotter. And yes, with a really good clean channel.

Hey Mike, Richard here (just joined). Thanks for the thread!

I'm obviously a PRS fan but I've never been able to pull the trigger on an amp. The Custom 2 Channel was the closest I've come (and its still on my short list). But I've lamented PRS not having anything heavier.

I was encouraged when they came out with the Custom 24-7. This amp could be just what the doctor ordered to help round out their lineup.

Haha! Apparently they'll be heading to a few dealers next week, so hopefully shortly after that!

As Vaughn said, I'm not an employee by any stretch. I am just a fan of the products as well as have a lot of friends who both work at PRS and endorse PRS so there is a great family vibe from the company. I started with a rack full of non-PRS guitars and over the years found only Maryland made stuff stayed so I think it just comes down to the fact that I feel they are well made, consistant quality guitars that are tonally and asthetically beautiful. And as a metal head over there I enjoy spreading info about something cool like this.

Richard! You and I hung out at Experience a few years ago man, good to see you're still kicking. I know its not BAM but you should swing by the official forums sometime, its a lot of the old guys.

So yeah I agree - I was never a PRS amp guy simply because it didn't cater to what I play, not because there was anything about them I didn't like. This thing changes that so I'm excited! Glad you dig the 7 strings too - hopefully we can get a Maryland version down the road...

Oh I absolutely remember hanging out. Probably meant nothing to you but I recall one conversation we had that still bugs me to this day when I recall it (nothing said by you -- it was all me). Looking forward to going next year if I can.

And I've been on Vintage Rocker since BAM died, posting somewhat regularly but nothing like before (as well as the official forums -- but I just didn't get on with them). Maybe I'll try again.

Ah whatever it was it doesn't matter, all I remember is missing our convos at the following years. Definitely try and make it out this year buddy so I can bug you about your electronics knowledge

A powerful and imposing high-gain amplifier with a clean channel not normally found in amps with this much crunch.

The PRS Archon amplifier has the impact and flexibility suited for today’s heavy music.

Seems a little dark for my taste but the bright switch is promising, as well as the low end. I'm interested for sure, can't wait to plug one in.
