Pedals to boost a Friedman BE?

So the amp has enough gain on tap and although volume isn't an issue, it'd be cool to add some more of each whenever I feel like it.

I've heard a lot of talk about the Koko Boost being the tour de force when it comes to boosting a Friedman but what else do you guys like to use?

I'm NOT an O.D/Distortion guy at all with the exception of my old Tube Driver so transparency is key for me.

So far, I've looked into the following (haven't tried any with the amp yet).

Koko Boost
OCD
TS9
Full Drive 2

I'm leaning towards the Koko and the OCD although the latter doesn't give me a boost section if I'd want it.

Let me know!

If you are putting it in the loop I would try a Seymour Duncan Pickup booster. The Seymour Duncan pickup booster is an inexpensive way to get a solo boost for the BE 100. I believe you can buy one for approximately $60. The Seymour Duncan pickup booster is not very effective going into the front of the amp, so if that is how you want to boost your signal you will need something else.

MK 4.23- cleanist boost out their.

Monsterpiece STUD- Clean boost w/ ability to add subtract treble (which is a great option in a pedal for the BE).

I have the Koko boost (great pedal), but the MK and STUD are the go to pedals for me.

Damn. The STUD sounds really cool. I like the treble reduction feature.

I think I may default and go with the Koko Boost.

Was just jamming on my kitchen sink today with Koko boost. Awesome tone and the mid boost makes things very interesting!!

It's hard to justify getting one because the amp has so much gain even on BE. My amp is super aggressive and HBE has punch you in the chest low end even at whisper quiet levels.

Again, Koko sounds like the winner.

It's not about more gain, it's about a different flavor.

don't go OCD.. i find it overpowers and colors too much. It added more noise than my ZW-44 and i found the OD a little too gritty for my tastes. It pushes the upper mids. I think KoKo might be what you want. Just my opinion though.

I'd go with the Koko- sounded awesome with my Friedman . Like Kapo I didn't really care for the OCD.

I'm enjoying the maxon tbo9
basically a maxon od820 with a tube stage before the regular solid state circuit
it's got a quite fat tone, but can be dialed to a tighter tube screamer like sound as well
the tube boost knob basically works as a clean booster and the rest as regular overdrive pedal controls
the level is actually a blend knob, like the od820, so you don't kill your guitar signal when you lower the level knob
I'd love to try the tod9, which is more like the od9

The Koko is great, I use an MXR 10 band, the old blue one.

I used to have a blue 1980 maxon 6 band equalizer
works really well in the front, but gives a crunchy and tight feel, which is usually great for metal and hard rock, but might be a little hard sounding when you need actual compression and warmth that only an overdrive you deliver
I loved it mostly for pantera, old school metallica and exodus-like modern thrash, but went back to overdrives when I needed to go modern rock, which is what I mainly play

Just looked at the Himmelstrutz and it looks incredible.

The Xotic RC pedal is an amazing clean boost pedal & makes any amp sound beefier.

The Xotic AC is also very good, but tends to add a little grit to yoru tone, so unless you want that extra coloration, I'd go for the RC.

I tried that in front of an AC30 and it was awesome.

No coloration: total transparency.
