Pedals to boost a Friedman BE?

no disrespect to others but if it were ME i'd take mark d's advice because:

1) he has a friedman brown eye
2) he works at tone merchants and has access to a gajillion pedals
3) his tones are excellent
4) and this he works along side dave friedman on a daily basis

True, but we may not all necessarily like the same kind of tone as Mark, or even Dave. Not saying I don't, but when I owned TM every rack was different with different pedals that all worked for that artist. Individual ears should be the deciding factor -

the guy asked for what would work in general, and i figure dave f. would probably steer mark d. toward something that sounded great, or at least voice his opinion if it didn't sound great.

True enough. I always ask Dave what he thinks when I am looking for info. My whole multi channel world changed a lot when being around Dave. I now prefer a great single channel with boost - something I never even would have tried before meeting Dave.

How about a Empress ParaEQ pedal.. You can have more shape control of your sound and a good Boost..

Right now, I'm gonna do a Badgerplex and Strymon combo for a faux echoplex type of thing. I've spent more time with the amp and tailored it to taste to where I don't need a boost.

Going to use a ten band eq too

Get yourself a Caroline Icarus. Set the boost level low and use the capacitance level to add some sparkle back. The pedal is noise free until you get over halfway on the boost which is way too much signal into a driven amp. Its a tone enhancer. Very musical and transparent. Noise is a huge factor with driven amps and pedals. This pedal is super quiet and gives up the goods. There are allot of pedals out there that are good but the hiss......

I use a Timmy or xoctic booster on my friedman 2203..theyre darn near 99.9999% transparent..if youre after transparency.

I boost solos with a MXR CAE boost/line driver in the loop while switching to the HBE channel. This works perfectly for my solo tone in my rig. Transparent boost. The amp sounds awesome so I dont want to color this tone at all.
What I would like to know is, which OD to use with the clean channel in front of the amp to achieve a low gain Classic rock/blues rude tone. The ones i have tried sound aweful. Maxon OD808, AC Booster, Sparkling yellow OD1 and OD2... They all sound muddy and distant. Any ideas as to what I should try here?
