Hey guys, does anyone have a guitar built by Perfromance Guitar? I have one of their necks on a warmoth body and its fantastic. I was thinking about getting a strat spec'd out like Warren Demartini's built for me. I know they are a little pricey but does anyone have any experience with the comapny, played one of their custom builds, anything ?? Thanks in advance

I owned one of the Performance guitars. It was Marc Ferarris (From Keel) personal guitar.
It was white with black ferarri stripes.
But some paint was chipping off of it and I saw that it had the "Camo" paint underneath it.
Thing was awesome. Sold it off a few years back when I was liquidating my collection.
I wanted one of the Demartini Performance Skull and Bloods that he did a few years back.
Where he helped in the painting of them.
Freaking awesome axes in my book!

Very cool, any ballpark on price? Gotta know what I'm getting myself into :D

It was white with black "racing stripes"
The guitar had this paint scheme on it.......
it was confirmed with Performance it was made for Marc Ferrarri.....
I should of kept it.

Well I'm thinking maybe just a plain color or even an unfinished mahogany or koa. I know koa is pretty expensive but I figure a simple one color and no fancy graphic may save a few bucks. However I want the "Warren grip" neck and his pickups. I plan on emailing them soon for a price

I would love to get one the Demartini ones.
The Performance guitars are not Cookie cutter axes.
They feel and play REALLY good.
One of the few guitars I wish I never sold.

Oh well.........
Its only Rock N Roll!

I visited Performance's booth at NAMM last year...they had about 15 guitars on display. Kuni and Yaz are great guys, definitely know what they're doing. I had plenty of questions about Warren's guitars, and they were very knowledgeable and forthwright about his preferences. They had three guitars that were made to his specs as well; two snakeskins and a reproduction of his first black Corsair. Great guitars, played and sounded fantastic.

However, be forwarned...you're looking at $2500 - $3500 though!

havent heard that name in a while. I had a neck from them as well. its on a friend guitar very good quality stuff. Are they still on Franklin St?

well iI figured 2500.00, but 3500.00 might be outta my range. i look at it as a new Charvel custom shop will rub about 2500.00 and I think Performance gives a little more attention to detail. I emailed them, waiting for a response

I used to go into Perfromance Guitars in the mid and late 80's. Back then their stuff was as expensive as Jackson Custom Shop but not up to that level in my opinion. It was very nice, but not just quite as polished or "finished" feeling. Today they're as much money as Charvel Custom Shop but the issue then and now is if you don't like it, re-sale value is nowhere near as good on the Performance as it is on the Charvel Custom Shop.
