Petition for an Ibanez Custom Shop (open to public)

Agreed with everyone saying the price would be mental. I've got an Ibanez 7, love it, but I'd never buy a custom shop jobby from them. There's plenty of good builders who could do it for cheaper.

In regard to the Sims LED thing I know someone who's got a custom 7 from them and though he's not very on the ball he's not had any complaints about it. Sims LEDs are actually based less than an hour away from where I live.

Oh I am GAS'ing for a custom guitar something chronic!!!
Please someone post a picture if they have one...

So the LACS is only open to endorsed artists, yet they get charged an obscene amount of money?

It is the only option if they want the "factory" to build it. There is a certain west coast luthier who does contract work for Ibanez as well, so the LACS is not doing 100% of the work.

I don't know all the "levels" of endorsements, but very few guys get totally free guitars, and even then it is a certain number per year.

The "Sims" being discussed in this thread is not the guy you're referring to, you're confused!

This is the guy we're talking about:

This is the guy you're talking about:

http://www.simscustom.com/

The name is the only similarity between the two gents, the loser is based out of Tennessee whereas the guy who, AFAIK, does legitimate work (mostly involving LED installs on fretboards and whatnot) is based out of the UK. ;)

I would think Peter would know best on this topic since he was endorsed by Ibanez and received work from the LACS so I'd say it's safe to say he's had more hands-on experience than most.

Ah now that seems less weird to me... I though it rather odd that a man doing work for Vai would be such a moron.

Ditto, thanks for the clarification! I nearly got to do work experience at Sims LED's but it sounded like I'd be more in their way than helpful so we left it, he seemed rather polite from what I remember though  he's also done a bass for Flea and done all of the Limp Bizkit's bassists basses I believe ;)
