So I threw a 2nd Degree BB in my mockingbird and dig it but I want just a bit more hair.

Anyone ever compare it to an Angel Dust or Detroiter?

And for the BK side of things, I've inly used a RY and HD. How would the Mule or VHII compare?

Tough to get a better comparison this one.

I have the Detrioter in the neck of a LP style axe.
Found it to be very sensitive to height changes.
Like a PAF that goes "Hulk smash" depending on your attack

Never played a 2ndBB

Angel dust will have more hair but no longer made although still on his site. Detroiter is very middy. Afwayu should do it. Not tried a BKP

The Detroiter is a little hotter, at around 9.2k. Has much more snarl to it, I always say it sounds like it has 10% P-90 in it. Drives the amp harder and sounds very pissed off. The 2nd Degrees have less push and a little more low end and low mids...very big and open sounding. Both have great clarity and openness and string separation, but the 2nd Degrees have a little more note separation. Both are lower output, but they'll drive your amp harder than you would think...but they are not high output pickups at all.

So far out of the ones I checked out my favorite is the Detroiter. It's like a slightly hotter version of the 2nd Degree Black belts at around 9.2k, with a little bit of a mid bump that makes it sound pissed off. It drives the amp harder than you would think, and is ultra clear and pure. Can do everything from Zeppelin and Van Halen to punk rock like Ramones and Sex Pistols. I love it.

The 2nd Degree Blackbelts are lower output at about 8.8k and are super organic and raw sounding, more of a bumped up P.A.F. type tone. Very clear and articulate under distortion, but not high output....probably a little less on the sustain part compared to the other higher output pickups, but the clarity and punch is amazing. Cleans up with just a roll of the volume knob. Very solid and strong tone, pure hard rock.

i agree with this description... i have a 2nd degree in my les paul elegant, hard to imagine a better sounding pickup for what i play (gives crazy clarity and note separation at high gain). i also have a detroiter in a PRS SC245. It is a cool pickup, and it may be the guitar, but it gives a little too much "clank" on the high end attach and does not sound quite as full as the 2nd, but again prob the guitar. I also have an AFWAYU in a class 5 les paul.. Kinda like a 2nd degree with MORE of everything, it is a hot pickup, love it.

Edit,
Detroiter in the bridge & T-Wrecks in the neck

New guitar. So I'm still getting familiar
