Wanting to put some pickups in this SL1 I picked up and candidly having some difficulty finding single coils that are not just strat / tele clones.

I have really liked the Warpig and Nailbomb in other similar guitars, but also love to expand my horizons and fine something that will compliment the single coils and candidly somehow I’ve always avoided them.

If you liked the BKPs, maybe a Rebel Yell with some Slow Hands in the middle & neck.

If you wanted to stay with EMGs, I gigged an SL1 with either an 85 or an 89 in the bridge and SAs in the middle/neck. That was a really versatile guitar.

Duncans go really well in them, too, a Distortion or JB in the bridge and maybe some SSL-5s or Cool Rails to go with it.

Hit up Planet Tone and have them match/build a set that suits your needs. I love my singles from them and humbuckers alike - P90s and H90s for that matter as well.

I've got a Holy Diver in my SL2H and it's a little dark for my taste, at least in that guitar. Realizing it's probably the guitar itself or the way I have it set up. It's a great sounding pickup.

I'd be tempted to load it up with EMG's and see how that goes. It seems like it'd be a good match for the Jackson. Speaking of which, I have had a H/S/S Jackson before with some original Jackson pickups from the early 90's - can't recall names - which weren't bad at all.

EMG are gonna go for sure I have never found them appealing at all in any guitar I’ve owned but hadn’t considered holy diver or been able to play one. The Duncan’s are for sure on my list of things to try as well.

Unpopular opinion…. The best sounding soloist I’ve played had lace sensors
