Damn, rough crowd. I don't even like Metallica, but shit, rough crowd.

Great pics! So, how'd they sound?

I agree. Rough crowd here. Super cool pics to see - i dig backstage/rehearsal shots... and have been listening to Metallica since the beginning. I can't say I really even like much of their work after the black album, but they changed the music world on several fronts. Hetfield deserves a doughnut or two.

Ken's not exactly a no name builder. He's like one of THE top bass luthiers around. That's what he's really known for.

Beat me to it

BTW....very cool of you to post these pics!

Been following bass players for over 30 years and none that I know play them. The most expensive guitars that I see these days being released are all related to Mcta$$$ica....those joke ESP 20th fiddles, KL who would not be able to charge this amount if not for yuppie boy jimz, for some reason these guys can sell water to a wino

He was making and selling guitars long before Hetfield got ahold of one. I can't say that I'd ever drop 7-8k (which apparently is what they're going for these days) on a guitar, but you definitely won't find something more finely crafted than a KL. Guitar wait times are something like 2 years, he hand builds 20-25 or so a year, and each one is 100% to customer spec. Also, to call KL a no-name, when he's been building guitars since the early 80s, is a little backwards. Just because YOU haven't heard of something doesn't make it a no-name lol. In any case, I'd love to own a KL some day, but I'm afraid I'll never be willing to spend that much money for what essentially boils down to a hobby.

You do realize you replied to a post from 4.5 years ago to a member that is no longer here... Right? :D

Gallons of Hater-ade being drank in here. Gatdayum boys !

I have that same vest too. Rough crowd....

Edit: GOD DAMN OLD FRIGGIN POST!!!!!!!!!!!

Digital Yams sure was picky about which brands people spent a few thousand dollars on. It was OK if it was Fortin or Hamer but just about anyone else

Geez, blast from the past :)

I am friendly with the met camp.....was hoping to do something similar at Orion over this past weekend but I couldn't make it. Next time though.

James actually DID go on the paleo diet. No more gut.

They sounded awesome.
