Just recorded this tune using the Kemper. Judge for yourself. Some of my favorite tones I have ever gotten. I cant see ever getting rid of this thing.

Even better: A slimmed down version without the profiling feature as there are so many outstanding profiles available already. And who will need the "Performance Mode" anyhow?

Ya know this was actually my first thought upon initially hearing the Kemper. Its damn near the same thing as copying a song (as you stated).
Very interesting subject there.

When the Kemper was first unveiled I asked someone high up at Line 6 if they were worried and all they said was "Nah, it doesnt sound that great. Its just a flavor of the month".
Which tells me the general attitude of the industry as a whole is a passive one. So far.

I think its a difficult one .because Modelling could be argued too .if cliff or Line6 Buy the amp in question .take it apart and redo individual components in digital .is that not a similar infringement?
Kemper is still using their own patented process to drive an end result just a different approach to modelling, that has been tolerated for the past 15 years.
To me the Kemper is a modeller .call it a profiler if you want sure but, what it is doing is creating a copy of an original and allowing the user to manipulate it .

all joking aside, the idea of being able to profile my amps and other friend's amp is really appealing to me right now. I just need to play one to see how it feels/responds. I've never been able to gel with digital stuff for live use except for the GSP1101.

Here's a clip I did with my Kemper - all the guitars are me. You decide.

I can get those same tones with about $1200.00 worth of gear...cab included..![]()
