...and i was not impressed. Did not turn 'em up loud. But i did not feel the need. It was just meh. Other than the Master Volume on the 1959 (which occupies the wrong input if you ask me) there was nothing useful in the Mod-Department which you can't achieve with a Pedal of your choice. Both have the Vietnamese Transformers in them. I'd rather take a pre 2022 2203 or 1959 (SLP 1959 MK2 is my favorite btw) and a nice Pedal anyday. Which i have :D At least i got a 2203 from 2015 and my 2 Ibanez Pedals, as ou propably know. lol. Anyone else played the Modified Series?

We've been saying for years :"Marshall should just make hot rodded classic amps and they would kill all competitors".

They did and screwed up. How the fuck.
Stakeholders, corporate board members, investors, parent companies, etc dictating these decisions to a large degree.

Admittedly I have not played on in person but sounds to me on many demos, like they got it "right" with these personally. Maybe you guys are used to more modern mods?? but I agree, a Mr. Scary hot mod or a pedal will get you there. the 59 and 2203/04 circuits are perfect. I have two early 80's JCM800's. One has a non intrusive Jose mod and gain boost. It's awesome. No holes, just push/pull pots. Such a good amp.
