I have several artist and replica guitars. I loved them as a kid growing and dreamed of one day having them. Now I do. Fuck what anybody thanks. If it makes you happy then go for it. Don't let somebody else's opinion on something spoil your love for it.

I love my Demartinis.

Oh, nice, the black Frenchie is in! Looks killer
Got it yesterday and the pic does it no justice man! Absolutely killer in person. Great tone on this one too.

I love my Universe and EJ strat! I would also rock the hell out of a: Michael Schenker USA V, Jem, Charvel DeMartini, EVH USA, Les Paul, Malmsteen Strat, PGM, Timmons, etc...

So to answer your question, YES! If a guitar has the features that you want, absolutely.

I play the guitars that make me happy.

Only once has anyone ever come up to me after a show and talked to me about gear, and that was a guy who thought one of my custom made guitars was an Epi Les Paul and asked why I was playing it while the other guitarist had an LTD EC-1000.

I showed him a photo of my room of guitars and told him "out of all of these, this is the guitar I chose to play."

who cares... just because you play a PRS Tremonti doesn't make you a Creed fan :D

I own a Phil Collen Jackson PC1 and two Adrian Smith Jackson strats. I couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks of them.

I love the Adrian Smith model, just not the pickups that come with it! I have a Jackson HT6 right now and it is AWESOME!! Really easy to play, sounds HUGE, yet totally defined and I even ended up liking the pickups, the BKP Juggernaut. its a great guitar, and really fun to play. love the neck.

I don't think it has the artists name anywhere unless you get one with the periphery logo on the 12th fret/

I have owned more than a few sig models and for me it's about how it looks and plays. I was looking into some BCRich a while ago and it was some screamo cornball's guitar but it was reaaaally nice so I said fuck it and bought it. If you like the guitar, it doesn't matter.

I love sig guitars personally. I see nothing wrong with playing the guitars that the guys that made me want to play guitar played. That being said the only sig guitar I have ever owned is my malmsteen strat (mainly comes down to lack of $$ for them). I have built ones that look a bit like my influences though

As long as it doesn't have EVH stripes or Zakk's bullseye, I think you're good.

my charvel has a bullseye (only stickers though) and its not because of zakk (even though I loved his early ozzy stuff) .... its because of Twisted Sister

I just thought id see what the general consensus on playing someone else's signature model guitar live is ? I hear some people call others posers and then some think it is totally fine. I have been contemplating getting the Schecter DJ Ashba model simply because it is a super strat style guitar with a sustainiac and kill switch already installed. that kicked up a conversation with my brother who is our drummer about why I would want to play someone else's guitar on stage. we aren't a national act by any means, but we do generally get the call for opening up for bigger bands coming through the area so I play to pretty good crowds if that even matters. anyways, after having the discussion with him, I figured id throw it up on here and see what all you guys think about the concept of playing signature model guitars of other players out live

My 'Favorite' Sig model guitar is my '79 Gibson Les Paul, and I've been playing it since it was new.

Poser - Les Paul (the man, the player) fanboy

Charvel Guthrie Govan. A badass guitar. The features, the woods , quality. I love this axe.

If the guitar speaks to you and for you, i wouldn't worry about what anybody else says! Certain people will try to cut you down no matter what fiddle you are playing! Ask yourself this : Do you truly care what others think?!

bingo-you forgot the tone... :worship:

I think I could learn to love a kiesel Holdsworth and I really loved the vigier Shawn Lane neck's zero action but the tone of that one wasn't super.

on an unrelated note I played my friend's 60th anniversary tele last night and it was stellar.

First of all, if you're playing it live, 90% of the audience will have absolutely ZERO idea that it's a signature model. Secondly, if it plays good and you dig it, then that's all you need to know.

I absolutely love my Richie Kotzen Telecaster, so much in fact that if I had a Tele built, it'd probably be extremely similar. A great guitar is a great guitar.
