Hey guys, how do you used it with the power stage of the amp? You plugg it in the line in and used the clean chanel or you need to mod the amp?

I've had the best luck running mine into the fx return (power section). When I use it live with my Carvin head, it makes no audible difference when I run it on the clean or dirty channel. With my Mark IV (and my Recto when I had it) it does make a big difference in tone and feel when switching channels. Not a techy guy when it comes to amps but I guess the power amp circuitry changes on the Boogies when switching between channels.

I tried the 4CM with high hopes and I just couldn't make it work. I'm sure it can work great, but I didn't put the time into tweaking levels. Eventually, I'd like to have the HD on a looper/switcher so I can use the models through a seperate power amp and then use my amp and pedals for my main tones.

Did you try the Pod distortion when you used it on the loop? How did it sounded?

It doesn't really have a POD "distortion". It has amp models. You use the amps with more or less gain and volume like a real amp. It also has models of several popular distortion pedals including a Butler Tube Driver, Tube screamer, DOD overdrive, ProCo Rat, and a bunch of fuzz pedal models. They sound really authentic to me. The most impressive thing to me is how well they modelled the touch/feel and how well they respond to guitar volume and picking technique.

Well ok but what I meant was does it sound good in the loop and do they still sound authentic if you used it on the loop?

LMFAO...You're the 4th person this week to compliment my clips, and I've never actually posted anything anywhere...I'm sure if I DID do some, they would sound fantastic.

KIDDING......wasn't me brother; I'm a hack at best, and I don't actually have it yet......won't be here until this weekend, was just trying to get as many good patches as I could before it arrived.

Fluff did some awesome ones, though....check out his YT for some demos of how good these things sound....his are done with the POD Pro but nice guy that he is, he also takes screenshots of all his stuff so you can build your own off of his settings.

this guy named meambobbo made a really comprehensive tone guide and he has some good presets too

http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/

also, you might already know this, but if you download a preset that was made on a pod hd pro or bean, you can just rename the file extension to .h5e and it should work on the 500.

I actually already found that guy over on TGP and he's a really big help, as is his guide.

I did NOT know about the file extension, so thanks a grip for that! Much appreciated, matt!
