It's been a while since I've had any ESP/LTD or Jackson guitars, and I've been looking around again for a bit. This slick 2012 EC-1000 in metallic gold sunburst popped up and buddy was looking for a Tele or Jazzmaster, and I was looking to offload some of my grampa guitars so it worked out great.

It's been a good while since I've had a H/H guitar that isn't equipped with filter'trons and I'm still tweaking the pedal boards so I don't have to mess with my setups that work for 75% of my other guitars lol. It has a full shred bridge and 59 neck, I put it in D/drop C... really digging it through the JCM 900. I wasn't sure about the full shred at first, but it's really articulate once you find the sweet spot.

I'm probably going to put a p/p to split the coils and go to 1v1t and a switch (Series/parallel?) and get rid of the speed knobs - I hate them! Otherwise, it's hard to muster up much to complain about. I've probably put ~30 hours in playing on it in the last 2 weeks, it's been a minute since I've played that much!

I am an LP guy, but have had 3 similar LTD's. Still have an AS-1 that I love. My only gripe is getting used to the knob placement coming from LP's. Those LTD's are great modern type LP's. Nice score! Have not come across one like that before.

That's a sweet axe Al Chapo, congrats and enjoy brougham. I probably should've bought an EC instead of a Viper but I had an LP clone already at the time. I'm guessing it maintains more thick LP tone than the Viper kicked out....

Thanks, lads!
That's a great color.
I'm glad he took the Jazzmaster, I was ready to pony up the cash for this colour lol. I hadn't seen one until this came up, the black hardware really sells it I think. Might put black chrome covers on yet.

It's quite a bit lighter feeling than my non-hollow Gretsch's, but it sustains like crazy. I have a rocky relationship with single cut LPs and I was eyeing some goldtops, I figure this is the happy medium! It definitely scratches that LP itch.
