I don't have any experience with the 11, nor with the new POD.

But I will say this... By and large the PODs are quite underestimated and misunderstood. I also think people expect far too much from them.

I am in two minds on whether to go for the POD HD or the Axe...

I'd say the POD HD pro. Looks to be more versatile, IE, actually being able to do 4CM properly, which I have heard from numerous sources that the 11r can't.

Pod HD pro easily - sound great for the price and the 4CM with them have sounded excellent as well - again - for its price.

its like a sore dick. hard to beat.

Just played a two-night casino gig this weekend with my Pod HD into tube power amp. Mic'd my cab with a good condenser (Shure KSM32) and got tons of compliments on the clarity and great tone of my rig. Sounds as good, maybe better than the other guitarist's 1959 reissue and pedals.

I still want to work my Mark into my live rig, but the pod covers everything I need and I'm less worried about spilling beer on it or having some drunk chick fall on it.

Never tried an 11r but you can't go wrong with the HD.

I have two Eleven Racks - one in my recording desk and one in my rack rig. My lead player has a POD HD and it sounds lifeless and synthetic by comparison. It could be that he just doesn't have it dialed in well, or I just don't care for the POD tones. I'm in the minority here, but I prefer the Eleven Rack...

Eleven Rack with the expansion pack does it for me. But I'm on the waiting list for an Axe-Fx II, so we'll see

4 cable method. Using the processor as a send/return, pre/post processor with an external preamp.

Guitar -> Pod (pre gain effects)-> Preamp -> Pod (post gain effects) -> power amp/fx return

The Pod is indeed "hard to beat" :hys:

But seriously-I'd vote Pod.

Judging just on clips I have been more impressed with the 11 rack, but not by a huge margin.

I was using a pod hd500 in a 4cm because i didn't really like the gain sounds on it, or at least couldn't dial them in to my liking, i would also hear some kind of digital artifacting or breakup which wasn't too pleasant, i don't think i'd notice it really in a mix but this was alone at home

i honestely preferred the results i got with my digitech gsp1101 when i had it, the only issue i had with the digitech was that it didn't clean up really at all or react too well in that sense, but found good tones in it

for 4cm and using it for effects i don't think you can beat the pod, and it's cheaper to boot
