I was using a pod hd500 in a 4cm because i didn't really like the gain sounds on it, or at least couldn't dial them in to my liking, i would also hear some kind of digital artifacting or breakup which wasn't too pleasant, i don't think i'd notice it really in a mix but this was alone at home
i honestely preferred the results i got with my digitech gsp1101 when i had it, the only issue i had with the digitech was that it didn't clean up really at all or react too well in that sense, but found good tones in it
for 4cm and using it for effects i don't think you can beat the pod, and it's cheaper to boot
