I'm a GHS Boomer guy for when I play live. Very rarely do I ever break strings and they just feel right to me.

sub

D'Addarios because that's what I can get in town, Elixirs when I can get them.

I use DR's, and I have for years. If I am in a pinch though, i'll use whatever I can get my hands on.

GHS Boomers- 10s for me. Used TNTs for ages, but then found the heavier lower strings were messing with the necks a bit more than I'd like, so just went for regular 10s.

I used:

Boomers for years: --> thicker cores feel slightly tight to me compared to same gauge from other co's.

Blue Steels for years: --> seem to die MUCH faster than other strings

D'Addario: --> never really felt special to me

Ernie Ball Slinky's: --> easy to bend, last fairly long, VERY economical. best all around for me.

DR: --> nice, expensive

Hmm -
Blue Steels - chewed up my frets, then I realized that they seemed to die pretty quick too.
Elixers - Loved them, lasted a long time, just a little pricy, but I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to changing strings.
Snake Oils - Last longer than any string I've tried. Totally worth it to me. Should buy some more soon...
D'Addario - Good strings that are easy to find cheap. Generally my backups (when I get lazy and don't buy Snake Oils).

Webstrings - Just bought a round. Haven't used them yet, but I'm looking forward to checking them out. Hopefully they are good, because I bought in bulk!!

Dean Markley Nickelsteel for me. I like how they feel and sound. I'm not super picky though. I don't really dislike any brands of strings that I've tried. Elixir's are overrated to me just because of how expensive they are. They don't feel or sound twice as good to warrant double the price.

Used SIT for years when I used 9's....switched to 10's and didnt like them.

Used Dean Markley for awhile, then DR's and now Ernie Ball Slinky 10's and 11's. I used to really hate EB strings, but now I like them.... :)

Me too, except the SIT part. In that order as well

I've tried EB's, DR's, Elixir's and a few others....but I keep coming back to good ol' D'addario 10-46's

I like Dean Markley and D'Addario, because historically I've had lots of breakage problems with slinkys and boomers

though i'm using slinkys currently cause the store didn't have the others in 10s

my preference is for blue steels, but since i decided to tune so low i had to move to a 7 string set. the store i trade with only has d'addario 7 string sets, so that's what i use.

+1 What he said :D

Blue steel's feel and sound the best and the best thing to me is there not overally bright and snappy right after you string them.

Can you get SIT strings in your neck of the woods? I thought SIT was kind of an Ohio thing and not too many people knew about them.

DR Tite fit 11's or custom made sets. Best string I have found in quality, durability, sound period.

Actually no, never seen them. Thats why I put "except the SIT part". Up here in Canada the best tone comes from Walrus whiskers.
