Same here. I thought it was the key to getting epic tone from the MP-1 based on testimony from Vito...and it does do something to make your "in the room" tone sound cool as hell. It took me far too long though to realize that it wasn't doing me any favors in a live mix.MARK1970":1tbo0syp said:I agree. I used one for three years. It collected dust after 10 years. On a P.A. system it does sound really good, especially up front. I bought mine when I was in my Vito Bratta phase. I had an ADA MP-1, CArvin FET400, Sonic Maximizer 822, and an Alesis Quadraverb.gbsmusic":1tbo0syp said:glpg80":1tbo0syp said:In the trash.
Or secretly on the back of the home stereo.
Proper EQ'ing goes a very long way. Mids are your friend, and volume does wonders for tube amplifiers![]()

A/B it in a live mix and see if you still feel that way. Trust me, I used to feel the same way you do until I tried it...even though I loved the tone in isolation I was shocked by how it disappeared in the mix when I listened back.thegreattailz":2l2f8y9i said:Wow thats crazy, thats the exact opposite experience ive had and Ive been playing 18 years. My ears dont lie it sounds great in my marshall
This is what I could not get past, it adds a lot of detail and bottom, but kills the mids. The very thing you need to cut in a mix. If you like a scooped tone (a lot of guys do) they seem great and you feel like you've had a blanket over your ears. I love mids, so it was a deal killer right away for me.rupe":31qssy9l said:A/B it in a live mix and see if you still feel that way.
