These two get the most rotation. On the right is my 2013 Historic Makeovers R9. Brazilian board and all the upgrades. Jescar 57110 frets. Pretty much every GZ amp out there was voiced with it. Has a Tone Nerd Roxy in the bridge.

The other one is a 2023 Murphy Lab Brazilian limited run R9. Stupid good guitar and plays and feels almost identical to my 52’/57’ conversion. The fretboard is almost black. Also has a Roxy in the bridge. I’ve been using it a lot lately and is giving the HM a serious run for #1.

Definitely the Gilmour Strat that I’m un-Gilmouring by switching out the pickups. Not sure what I’ll use yet, while I really love the EMG’s in most applications, there’s aspects I don’t dig and I’ve barely used this thing for the reason I built it; playing Gilmour shit with it. This was supposed to be a novelty/nostalgia guitar, it just plays and sounds so good it’s beat out all the others.

For heavier shit it’s one of these two, the Solar plays fucking great and it’s all I use in my band, but the LP is an absolute beast in the tone department (Aldrich in the bridge) to the point it swallows other guitars up in a mix.

I'm primarily playing this one. Reverend Drop Z
26.25" scale in D Standard and Drop C.

For standard and drop D i run the green prototype Z-One and the BC1 with Z-One pickups in half step down and drop C#.

Your Murphy R9 has one of the best eastern maple tops I've ever seen man. And to top that it sounds as good as your conversion?? Damn! Awesome!

My 'Go to' guitar at the moment:
Leo Scala Flameheart. Smokes!! Arcane pickups

Top 'Les Paul' or similar: Gil Yaron Bone H. Brazilian board, Air-Gap pickups, 7.5lbs of amazing tone!

Best Superstrat: 2012 Suhr Modern w/Aldrich's. Almost too easy to play. Can sound Brutal if need be. Push/pull volume knob for single-coil tones on both pickups. Gotoh trem hardly ever goes out of tune. Have had many Suhrs and this is the only one that stayed. Back of the guitar body is white (kinda cool).

Best vintage guitar: 1964 Fender Custom Esquire
This guitar absolutely rips! It sounds fantastic, and at times will fight with you for the goods. The result
comes out of your amps speakers in such a cool way. Check out the red switch tip!!!

The Unsung Hero Guitar: 1976 Ibanez Rocket Roll
An impulse buy at Rudy's Music in SoHo,,,all original and gives the Gibson equivalent a serious run for the money!

Honorable mention: 1987 Jackson Soloist
My first real guitar. Purchased it new from Ed's guitars in Miami. If memory serves, it was damn near 2k, or a littler higher. Mowed lawns for the whole summer of 87' to pay my Mom back on the loan.
Originally had a Copper Snakeskin paint job that was cool at the time, but I grew tired of it. I stripped the paint off myself (major pain in the ass), and had it painted silver flake. That lasted about a year,,,then stripped it again and was going to do red,,, This is when I played it for a while with no paint, and I couldn't believe how much better it sounded! More open and alive. I had a buddy carefully sand off all the leftover paint evidence and she's been
'ala Naturale' ever since for about 30 years!

Believe it or not, it's this. Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson" Explorer. Junked the white pick guard for black, Gotoh locking machines, and DiMarzio Dominion pickups. Plays & sounds great.
