You guys go commando, or use click?
I have a metronome app that has drum patterns so you can play to a drum beat.

The other method is using a free drum plugin called MT Power Drum Kit 2. You have to use that on your computer though.

i really dont "practice" anymore, its usually just noodling till i come up with something i like, which then i put the metronome on and record it, i dont ever just sit and play scales over a click like people do though

I dig putting on some Sheila E and locking in & off the pocket .
Also 80’s over produced , washed in reverb bit beat drum sounds..are the best to play drums along with.
An example could be “Breakout”-I know embarrassing but fun to lock into.
I also really dig locking in with Phil Collins.
He’’ll teach you how to sound bad ass before sounding technically bad ass.

I practice blues runs to backing tracks on youtube or learn licks/tunes from videos posted there but will use a metronome to find the proper tempo for a new song or just for cleaning up my performance on a new song. Electronic drums and drums in general are kind of worthless without a bass guitar IMO, just a fancy timekeeping device.

I just write music and first play the guitar parts to a slower tempo to my DAW click. I slowly ramp up the tempo until it's what I need for recording the song. Then I hit record and move on to the next part.

I like using drone tracks when practicing scales.

Guitar Pro has drums and bass programmed into all the songs I download and I can practice to that. I will export the midi into my recording software and use better drum and bass VST programs.

I tap my foot or sometimes both feet emulating a double bass pedal

my brain is a metronome, just without the numbers. I do have a classic wind-up pyramid pendulum metronome but more often I tend to lock onto whatever is on TV.

I play to the beat of my elderly neighbors heart monitor.

The louder I play, the faster I have to play.

My usual every day noodling, I just raw dog.

But at least a few times a week, I try to grab the metronome or at least a drum track & focus on improving something.

Superior Drummer 3/EZ Drummer. Best way to write riffs or just practice. It's like having a terminator for a drummer.

We record and use our drummer’s tracks when he’s on vacation.

Click if it’s a song, raw dog if it’s just a lick or noodling.
