I've been gassing for a ce24 but the price on a new s2 is about the same. Any love or hate for the s2? I like the tops/colors on the ce but don't hate the colors of the s2s.

Thanks

i was curious too, especially since they came out with the singlecut. I've seen quite a few good deals on used PRS stuff but they were still $200-$400 more than the S2.

I dig the S2s, though I'd rather have a three way switch instead of the blade.

I have a nice old ce24 and spent a lot of time playing an S2c24.
I think the S2 is a fine instrument but the CE will be brighter clearer probably cheaper and certainly have more character.
the s2 is like a stripped custom 24 the ce is a different beast tonally.
YMMV

I was looking into these a while back to satiate my gas for a singlecut and sadly it seems the hardware is not the USA stuff, its the same as they fit on the SE line, im not sure where the pickups are manufactured. I hate to say it but these look like PRS's latest way to clear out the supplies of wood deemed not pretty enough for the main USA line. Grab a CE if you can.

I just picked up one of these. I tried it out at a GC. I was actually hoping to find one of the high end clearance PRSs, but this Custom 24 S2 caught my eye. I hadn't heard of the S2 line before so at first I thought I was playing a $2K+ Custom 24 that was marked down. :D

Fit and finish are excellent, and the tuners are very nice. The pickups have nice definition, and the coil tap settings produce some nice twangy tones. Out of my collection it's the most versatile guitar. Look into these if you're not set on having a collectors item that higher end PRS's may be. Very playable, great setup, and comfortable on the knee and to wear. It's a player's guitar at a mid price point, and is the best guitar in recent memory I've come across at under $1500 new. As of now I like it better than a couple of my $2k+ guitars!

As one point of comparison, I like this one better than the ESP M2, which is a similarly priced 25.5" scale guitar. The S2 Custom 24 has a more comfortable neck (to me) and more tones available. If I were looking at similar guitars, Horizons, etc, I'd try the PRS S2 as well. They got the important things right - neck, tone, stays in tune. I'm happy with the pickups so far as well.

I am picking up a CE 24 on Tuesday... I can't wait. I am getting it for a song too... deals are out there if you look hard enough.

Bump!!! I'have been looking at this guitars since they came out. But i have been hesitant to buy one because they look like se's but with a PRS logo on the headstock. Who have compare the se vs the s2?

Ive played the S2s not the singlecut but the custom 24 and the mira. the mira felt ehh and had bad upper fret access but light and sounded good, the custom 24 is def a better guitar, nice finishes and I thought they played VERY well, nice bending and comfy neck...would take it over a LP studio in the same price range any day...

I like the look of the S2 so much better than the $3k ones. I know I'm in the minority, but I just think they look corny and sometimes gaudy. Now they just need to make a 7 string S2 with a Floyd.

I got my CE24 on trade for an amp there was no chance of me ever selling for what I had into it. The asking price on the CE was $1100 with Bareknuckle Ceramic Warpig in the bridge and Miracle Man in the neck.

Probably could have gotten it for $1000 shipped. I'd take that over the S2 personally. With that said, I am having a cocobola neck with ebony board and maple binding made for it. It'll have abalone birds as well. Can't stand the idea of a PRS with dots.
