PRS One piece top???

What's the deal with these? I think I like the looks better than a two piece.

I know it doesn't match on either side because it's one piece, but it's one piece. I dig it.

Thoughts?

Looks beautiful to me. Regardless of how many pieces the top is. Classy.

They're just aesthetically different and carry a tad higher resale value. No tone difference with a same spec / weight guitar. I had two identically specd SC245's and one had a single piece top. That one found a new home so I cold get a new amp. YMMV.

As far as looks go I like the one piece better as well. Dont see a lot of this either...at least I don't. Funny you should post this cuz I was just thinking today about why I don't see one piece tops more often.

Well, the "why" is because it's a large piece of wood.

On the other hand, a two-piece, book-matched top looks fantastic as well...

I too prefer one piece tops. They may not "match" eachother but I like that there isn't a seam.

I think you need to hand that guitar over to me Few get book matched that close - beautiful quilt. I like one piece too, but in reality I just like the tone of solid mahogany more I kinda gave up looking for a maple top, cause when I compare to my hogs - I just like the tone better. When I win the lottery, I will go on a hunt for maple.
