I had the Studio Plexi for a few weeks ...... I didn't like it at all .... and I put all kinds of stuff in front of it ... could never get it tight enough for my liking ..That plexi with a boost sounds fucking killer

Me too. Too much bells and whistles for me. And sounded very sterile, imho.I had a JVM for about a month ...... a few of the modes / channels were almost good enough for me to keep it .... but .... just not quite " there "
For me if it would open up it would have got there . It just couldn’tI had a JVM for about a month ...... a few of the modes / channels were almost good enough for me to keep it .... but .... just not quite " there "
That's interesting. It wouldn't be an amp I tried to get tight but, for more classic sounds I was pretty damn impressed.I had the Studio Plexi for a few weeks ...... I didn't like it at all .... and I put all kinds of stuff in front of it ... could never get it tight enough for my liking ..
Actually for all it's bells and whistles I use two channels. OD 1 Orange which is IMO pure hot rodded Marshall, no boost needed. Or at least in my case I don't use one. And then the clean channel. My lead sound is basically the same as my rhythm and I use a volume boost from my pedal and the volume knob on my guitar. Basically the same thing I've always done with any amp I've owned. That's literally all I use on the amp 99% of the time. The rest is fun to tinker.Me too. Too much bells and whistles for me. And sounded very sterile, imho.
Well you saw my two new Marshall amp ideas the other day lol. I keep waiting on them to get with me lol. They rehired Santiago to do a new amp . The guy who made jvm . I’ve heard it’s happening
I don't think I'm a plexi kind of guy ..... unless I'm doing something wrong ( which is quite possible )That's interesting. It wouldn't be an amp I tried to get tight but, for more classic sounds I was pretty damn impressed.
True that man, I bet that Granger sounds killer if you were into the Plexi stuff. I have realized I am a low-mid gain player that loves to add pedals to create tones. But I like keeping the traditional overall vibe of the amp. It's why I like that Chiron so much.I don't think I'm a plexi kind of guy ..... unless I'm doing something wrong ( which is quite possible )
I have a Granger 50 watt Hand wired Plexi ...... I'm not so big on that thing either .... it's much better than the Studio ... but I'm not exactly loving it ..
yeah .... The Chiron is great for making what you got sound like a little more of what you got ....True that man, I bet that Granger sounds killer if you were into the Plexi stuff. man .... I've been looking at Bassmans forever ...... I don't know anything about them .... they run from like 1400 " minty " looking 60's Black faces to the mid 80's ones that go for around 700 ... in GC used section .... what do you have ?True that man, I bet that Granger sounds killer if you were into the Plexi stuff. the price is great ..... the 205 50 watters are only 1300 .... friggin great priceJust bought a JVM410H. My rep saved me a few additional bucks as well.
The prices are going back up in a couple weeks. Isn't about lack of sales. New owners making changes in certain markets.$1000 bucks off tells me it was wildly overpriced for the market to begin and now isn't selling well so what kind of money am I really saving?
