Sorry for the stupid question but can this be used to record directly into an Apogee Duet?

I am 99% sure that the answer is no but I just don't want the 1% of curiosity to get the better of me and watch things burn/explode

Please enlighten me to the appropriate use of the Line Out feature, thanks in advance!!! :m17:

Yes it can, however:

1) amps still needs a load (i.e. speaker cab, dummy load, attenuator)
2) it's not speaker compensated so you would need some sort of speaker emulation in your DAW or an external one
3) line out is pre power amp so you wouldn't get the full benefit of a hard working power amp section as you would if you had an attenuator with a line out

Thanks very much for the explanation!

So if I have a 4x12 plugged in at the same time, does the sound still come out of the 4x12 at massively loud volumes?

I think i have speaker emulation through the Two Notes Software but not sure whether I need one of the boxes ala Reload, Torpedo or VB101 as
well

very good point on the power amp, perhaps i could use the power amp feature on the Two Notes software but that brings me back to the question of whether I would need one of the boxes as well

Yeah, you'd need an attenuator for sure. Line out is not really there for direct recording, it's more for use in a WDW setup with another amp or power amp.

The line out on the amp is post power amp. You would need a load on the amp like a attenuator with a load setting. You then could take the line out right into your interface and use the Two notes software for speaker emulation.

I stand corrected! Sorry for disinformation!!! That's actually pretty awesome that it's post power amp!
