Bummer !!
He was a great writer and player !!
He had killer feel and vibrato !!
One solo that sticks is on roll with the changes .
R.I.P.

Great guitar work on that song...

:aww: bummer RIP..... He was the one I always played air guitar to as a young lad before I started playing guitar myself

Damn, RIP. Talented & underrated player and songwriter.

I loved the guy. I started a few threads about him thru the years here. Lot of cherish for him on all the threads from alot of members.
Mostly of guys remembering getting to 3rd base with Hi-infidelity playing in the background.
What he played he played well. Always have a soft spot for him.

Steve
Started following the yngwie diet......

Unfortunately, booze turns you into Boss Hogg.

On a serious note, I am extremely sad to hear of his passing. His music will be enjoyed for a long time though, because he was truly a great player.

Pick slide and hand slide...solo from "Keep on lovin You"!

I thought I was the shit when I could half ass play "Flying Turkey Trot".
He had a way back then to improvise and keep it interesting.
Man,sad to hear he passed. Wonder if he still had that collection of Les Pauls.
Another song for those who need a break from the FM radio bullshit is
"Golden Country"

R.I.P.

This album...and this song...is why I wanted to play guitar...2 years before I ever heard of an Edward Van Halen...(I was 12 lol)

One of the best "Soul filled solos EVER!!!"
Just OOOOOOOOOZES tone and flavor.
Definitely proves there is MORE WITH LESS.... ;)
You guys know it.... :D
Just fast forward to 1:50
Or enjoy the whole song. Like posted above.....this is one of my Desert island albums.

Great player and pretty underrated. That old live REO album was awesome.

I saw them back in the 80's and they killed it live!

Gotta bump this video back up...guy is on fire! One of my all time fav songs too.

Seems like when he played.....he just commanded respect. It was automatic. His playing was so strong.
All eyes on him when doing a solo. I have yet to hear someone blow me away in the pop/rock scene like Gary.

awww man...
I've just recently started listening to REO again too.
He did some great playing and writing.
RIP Gary!
