Hello I bought a used Randall RD50C with serial number:1210R0309 and would like to know if it has the Mike Fortin mod.Is there any way to tell the difference other than the paper tag hanging from the amp's handle when its new?
I assume that the first 4 numbers are the date so it must have been produced in Octomber of 2012.

open it up carefully and check if there are any piggybacked components on the board

ok so the mod consists of a piggybacked board or something like that?

what makes you think it is modded and not a production model?

actually this is what I am trying to find out.I contacted Randall amps via email asking them the same and they replied
''The only way to tell is if it had a tag on it that said “Mike Fortin Moded”. Attached is the mod info that can be checked inside the amp''

,they sent me the diagram with instructions for the mod which I guess you need some basic electrician knowledge in order to understand

I though the RD45 was the Fortin Mod not the RD50? I could be wrong, had been a long time.

I'm pretty sure there was a last run of the RD50's that mike modded. This was before they started doing the New line of Diavlo series stuff

There was a batch of rd50 heads that MF did. When they came out, there was still a lot of rd50 preFortin stock out there. Eventually the newer rd45 arrived
Not sure if he did some combos

I know this is an old thread, sorry to bump it but I'm hoping you're still about. Could I possibly get the schematics they sent you? I recently picked one up and would like to check, myself. I'll send you a pm
