Hi guys. Anyone think these amps are ok? The Randall is on Reverb.com and it's a 1 x 12 combo with a plexi module. 50 watts, all tube..

I'm a huge lover of plexi tones and recently I was thinking of getting a ( still might to record with) Tech 21 effects (the plexi ) small effects.. But, waiting on the new winery dogs guy and his version.
Anyway, I like tube amps, but was actually looking for solid state, but tubes are ok at this price. This thing is only 299.00 and 30 or 40 shipping..

What you think as far as it's reliability and what or how well will it do everything from blues, classic rock and 80's metal? I can always use a boots pedal or distortion pedal, but I prefer to get at least most of my tone from the amp, and at most use a pedal for a clean boost which doesn't effect the amp tone, but just ups the sustain, etc,.

Thanks guys.. and gals, martians, aliens, etc,.. LOL

I wasn't a fan of the stock G12t75 speaker in the RM50c....decent enough amp, although the modded module side of it is addicting.

Depending on the age of the Plexi module, it might be in need of a couple of minor mods...early versions had wrong resistor and cap on input....the R1 mod needed to reduce input distortion and c3 mod to reduce the low end a bit (from memory.)

If you want Plexi...the Lynch Brahma mod is where it's at....or can always look for a Friedman mod Brown Eye module if you like more gain!

brahma is all you need plus a boost. Does it all.... that's great tone on the cheap! Pretty much all I play with my jcm800 these days. The randall stuff has a little less highs so it is smoother. Just make sure the amp is not too dark..if it is, you will benefit from an updated presence circuit like the JF foglifter. (50$)
