Meh. I had the Randall hook up going on when the V2 came out. Even got an advanced proto of the Ninja. Had three full stacks going of V2 heads on 2x12/1x15 cabs. A massive wall of impressive looking Randall gear. Bloodrock and I would just laugh at the absurdity of it.
The best tones we ever got out of those amps were by running a good distortion box thru the clean channel. Gain channels were so noisy and weird sounding. Graphic eq was cool,tho. And lots of clean solid state power.
The moment I got a good tube head(Marshall KK),I started dumping the V2s. There is a good reason those Randall heads didn't sell like hotcakes. Even at $600 used,people didn't want them once they tried them.
