Thanks for the video Pat. The RR sounds great but tell me more about that Egnater Rebel. That think looks like a MONSTER in kids clothing.

dude, this thing is one step closer to my dream amp. how about the size of that thing???

lunch pail!

and the tones are sah-weeeet. jeff h. was telling me that brian swerdferger is gonna pick up two stacks for stereo rig clinics and small gigs, and that jeff used one on a gig at it easily kept up with the drummer. it's 20 watts wide open, and having a 12 watt coyote myself i know i'm never struggling with volume.

Awesome! You have any idea what the price tag and lead times are on teh Rebel? And what speaker config they are running with it? Yes, serious gas...

mentoneman presents my NAMM day 1 video

included is yes...the Randy Rhoads Marshall....Jeff Kollman on a supersonic, and my dear friend Bud Nuanez, guitarist for the band Seawind, demoing an Egnater Rebel, after i drug him to the booth!

Man that RR sounds awesome! Where was that thing??? I saw them sitting in front of the big wall of Marshalls, but I didn't see it in the booth. I was also there pretty early and although I could see in the "loud room" it was closed until 11 am. I may have to make a trip back to hear that thing!!!

I want a schem of that amp and convert a 77 Superbass hwich is at my house atm into it :D

1000 bucks for the stack. speakers unknown...

Honestly, I never cared for Randy Rhoads tone on the Ozzy albums. His playing is outstanding though!

tone is in the fingers. curt cobain would have sounded killer through RR's rig on Blizzard

The RR head sounded pretty good, really aggressive old school Marshall crunch. A little too honky maybe, but I suspect the guy had it dialed in to sound like that because that's how Randy sounded on record. It definitely sounded good, I'd be interested in playing one of those. Wonder how the PCB and guts look?

Thanks for posting the video Pat. The RR certainly doesn't sound thinned out or like it was built around the produced album tones.

Looks like I was correct about their approach. Not rubbing it in, just saying...

Even back in 81 you didn't like it? Did you like Ozzy back then?

Thanks for posting that mentoneman!!! I loved it. I really don't get all the "tone" comments about guitar legends...they paved the way with their tone, and it just naturally evolved.....into numetal which I personally dislike...because of the true lack of tone.

Yup, even back then. I was listening to UFO, Van Halen and Scorpions (Think "The Zoo") at that time. I liked that tone better.
As far as Ozzy, I liked the tunes a lot but the guitar tone left me kinda cold compare the other bands mentioned above.

I've never had an Ozzy studio album, I just have the my second tribute album, played the first until it was completely crappified :D
I love it to death.

Wow, you're the first I know who actually took offense to the tone back in the day. Picky bastage. ;)

Oh yeah, The Zoo is awesome! Lovedrive was one of my favorite albums back in the day. Darn it, I need to get on ebay and buy some old Scorps now. I've got Loving You Sunday Morning in my head right now...

Haha, taking offense ? moi? ;)

The beginning of the zoo was along with Shenker was the Marshall tone for me. The reference as I would put it.

Never over points of opinion.

Strangers in the Night was one of the holy grail tones for me back then. I didn't buy that 81 JMP by accident you know. :)

Yup. Of course, I was trying to emulate the tone with a Boss or MXR pedal
Needless to say, it didn't work well. I tried my first real Marshall in 1986 belonging to a friend of mine. What I shock that was!
It was a non-master volume with a Power soak.

That video clip of the RR sounds badass!!! Are you sure it's going to be $1k?
