I'm really debating this guy. $1400 ain't a lot when you look at 3 new Strymon pedals. I have enough dirt pedals to not care about the drive sections.

For the price of a couple buteeeeekie pedals and a patch cable or two, you get the whole enchilada. Cliff is light years ahead of the competition on digital FX and their integration. I am on the wait list and will gladly shell out the dough for one.

+1, if this works i can sell of my huge pedal board. I hope the 4CM works really well with this unit.

On paper it had me interested but the thought always comes to mind that I'll never buy another Fractal unit to use 4CM. Every single one I've owned added way too much noise with Snax 2 being the worst. No amount of "special" cables or hum eliminator units would fix it. Jay Mitchell said it was there and not sure why the proper way of preventing it wasn't there from the get go. Maybe with this they did it right. What is so confusing to me is I use a PODHD 500 and don't even have to address any hum what so ever. Why in the hell is that true with a $400 unit and not with a $2000 plus one?

Wow, should I stop buying pedals now?

This is honestly way too much for a guy like me but pretty damn awesome and would still love to have one.

Steve, there isn't much gear out there that you haven't shelled out dough on.

But, I am not Alex.... :D

The funny thing is the ONLY unit out there that I have found that does the 4CM without hum, without tone suck, is the cheapy Digitech RP1000. I tried the TC G System and it was a total disaster. I tried with an Axe Standard and it was a noise fest. I didn't try with the Axe-2.

I just found the RP1000 is a bit limited and it's effect sounds are...ok. But it works the way a 4CM device should. What did Digitech do right that everyone else is screwing up?

Anyone know if the unit has any loop memory abilities. Be cool if it could record loops & process the independently.

I know it's weird right? Why in the hell would a $2000 unit be that noisy? Cliff claims not to skimp on expense when designing and making those things. Maybe that's just marketing bullshit.

Hi guys, the great device!
However, I do have some suggestions:
1. Not enough buttons.
2. It is not possible to load impulses cabinets (this is very useful if you only use the preamp).
3. No headphone outputs (very useful function of demand for rehearsals).

Maybe Cliff go ahead and build something like this?
I warn you, it's just my imagination :)

What do you think guys? ;)

I'm sure it will be a killer G-systems and M13

its an effects only unit,it doesn't do the amp/cab modeling so Im not sure why it would be useful to be able to load it's and Im not sure it would make sense to have a headphone out. The AX8 which has a thread going on fractal will be a stripped down version of the axe fx which would more likely be what you're looking for

Thanks! I did not know about AX8, perhaps it really is more suitable for me.

However, I still think that for FX8 also need to add the number of buttons, impulses and headphone output.
I use an external preamp Egnater M4 and I do not need amp models. I like 4CM. Thus, I need only the effects and cabinets impulses in order to play on line. A home rehearsals need headphones ...

I am thinking of going this route. Can i use this as a noise gate for my 5150III?

Yes, i believe you can do a pre or post gate.

If that can really do the 4CM thing without sucking tone, like the G System does  , and without adding HUM then this could be the last multi board I'd ever need. Leaving their amp models out of the discussion there's no question how good the Fractal effects are.

Same here but only if it had three or four insert loops for pedals like the G System.

Really excited to hear initial reviews once this comes out. It seriously interests me too.

Good luck stopping the noise...lol

I've tried and have just learned to "embrace" it as the nature of the beast......

Now I know what it looks like my goal...

It would be great if Cliff would have done it ...

call me crazy but why more buttons

You do know how Fractal is using x/y states. that 2 IAs per button
so essentially 8 IA's is 16 . I don't know of any boards i that size that have 16 IA's
the gsytem for sure not .

do you think you will use more than 16 effects at a time just curious .not trying to bash
