I just installed reaper 5 minutes ago.

Miked up the YJM with the Bf-2 flanger in front and used an OD3.

Lick is mindless, so don't expect much but I'm diggin reaper!

I'm in tears. Mucho fun

I just listened and wanted to comment quick before I read the rest of the thread to see what everyone else has to say.

To my ear, that doesn't sound like a YJM at all, or the BF-2. It doesn't have any of the organic chewiness, it doesn't have any of the higher order harmonics causing that smooth conflagration in the upper echelonian structure. The low end doesn't have that spongy sag associated with vacuum tubes tortured into near liquiesence. And the mids sound like doody.

:hys:

I got nothing other then you are the best :D

:inlove:

Wait, ......... what? That wasn't really a tube amp or the BF-2? You might be able to pull the wool over the rest of these noobs ears, but not old Chubtone. I wanted to say that it sounded like some sort of Germanic approach to simulating the sound of a British amp but decided not to be as typically specific as I normally am for fear everyone would think that I was just showing off.

:worship: Chubtone

PS. That Kemper sounds pretty damn good. Best modeled clip I think I have ever heard in terms of just sounding natural. You rule

This deception seems to be a distrubing parallel reminiscent of

NO..... YOU RULE!!

I'm really digging this thing and I haven't even profiled any of my amps yet! Im going to continue to work on that sound and see what I can come up with!

Oh man... :2thumbsup: ! That sounds great, really, REALLY great.

All this talk and clips around the Kemper, I gotta confess, makes me rethink my plans altogether.

Oh and thx for the reply Ralph, got me a lot to weigh now especially with the Kemper in the picture...

It seems it would do a "good enough" job in a live setting as well?!

Wassup Brother!! You are very welcome!

I'm going to field test the Kemper Live in October but I'm pretty positive that it's going to crush.

I'm going to use the Kemper direct to the FOH and I'll use 2 tech 21 power engines to use for stage volume/monitors.

This is the "real Stripped" down rig that I was always looking for and each piece weighs next to nothing and can be broken down in less the 5 minutes

Kemper =11 lbs
Tech21 Power enigine = 33lbs each
Rocktron Midi mate = 6-10lbs hahaha

It sounds great. I was going to ask you for the flanger setting, as all I heard was the mid range bump, but none of the sweep with a rolled off flanger, then further down you let the cat out of the bag.

I know the feeling though of playing with the mid range sweep tone; it's like when I read that Schenker used a cracked wah and I tried it the first time. I must have played two hours every night for a few weeks with that sound.

Thanks !

If you have the BF-2 flanger it will do the cocked wah sound. The funny thing is there was an article in last months Premiere guitar that had a tips trick where it showed you how to get a cocked wah sound out of a flanger and I just had to laugh because that is exactly what Ronni was doing in the 80's. How he figured that out is beyond me.

I tried using a flanger in the Kemper to see if it would get that sound and it really came close but since I know what frequencies were being boosted and cut, i used a Parametric EQ to mimic what the BF-2 does.

If you have a BF-2 turn the first knob all the way up and turn the other three knobs all the way down and it will get the cocked wah sound.

Pair that with a boost and you are good to go
