With Steve Morse being the perfectionist that he is, you have to think that his vibrato sounds like that on purpose, for whatever reason.

Wow, that's pure denial. His Vibrato sounds bad because he wants it to sound bad? now I've heard it all

There is no doubt the boy can play, but for last few years his wah is just as annoying as Zakk Wylde's pinging.

I think it's funny barely anyone rips on Zakk, at least not to this extent. I guess it's because his vibrato is so good that no one notices he pinches off harmonics like it's a cutting edge technique and plays in one of the crappiest bands around (BLS). Not to mention his voice, that's another subject all in itself

With an ear like he has there's no other reason for it. He has total command of his playing and if he wanted his vibrato to sound different I'm sure he would.

Maybe you can post a clip of yourself playing Tumeni notes to show us what HIS vibrato is supposed to sound like.

Don't get me started...BLS is terrible and his voice has gotten so bad it is embarrassing. Up through 1919 Eternal I suffered through it but after that I just stopped listening completely. Not to mention that the songs sounded like they were each written in 13 seconds. And the piano ballads...yikes. It is sad especially when you listen to the first couple Ozzy records he was on, his playing was so cool and unique. Now he just plays the same exact lick at different speeds with wah and rotovibe all over it. I know underneath all that there is still a killer player in there...hopefully he will put down the humongously gay coffin guitar and get back to the good shit.

He just scares the shit out of me with the amp dives totally nude...
but his mastering of the fretboard......I overlook this.

it would be nice if Kirk practiced and tried to come up with some new licks.

But why come up with new licks when recycling the same ones over and over again for 20+ years has worked out so well? I mean with his licks, there's no need for rhythm or anything. Just string crap together as fast as you can, and maybe you can disguise the repetition by adding way too much wah to boot!

Can't say, I was several rows back, Lars couldn't spit too far so it never got near me. Guess the tooth gap had been expanded through the years.

James H stopped a show to yell at me for not getting into it. I cant stand a band that screams obscenities to get the crowd pumped and into the show. Play,rock and Jam out, draw me into the band having fun dont cuss at me.

when 99% of the so called guitarists here at rig-talk,..think one guitarist is "better" than another because why?..they can play sweep picking!!!!!....or there more technicaly proficient!!!!!,....or,..there vibrator isnt nervous???....oh and can play scales faster!!!!....lol,......i think you've missed the point of what a musician is,.....i would rather hear one well timed blue note,..than a million scales and tap ons at super fast speed,...i cant believe i even have to say this,.....
