SgtThump

Real OG
I got a call last Monday from a popular local cover band to sub on guitar that Saturday at a St Louis Cardinals game.

Anyway, that was the first time I met the band and no rehearsal. He called out a bunch of songs I don’t know. I had to fake my way through some songs and it was nerve-wracking!

This video shows 3 songs I mostly knew, but with some cringe mistakes. Lol

Diezel VH4 for the win.

Nice Mr. Thump! Sacrilege.................:shocked:Country with a Diezel VH4.......I thought you did a fine job with the chicken picking parts!
That Diezel clean channel is damn fine!:2thumbsup::rock:

BUT.....................................Looks like someone needs a telecaster for true chicken picking awesomeness!:dunno::LOL:

Growing up in the late 70's and early 80's that Reo solo should be burned in to all of our brains, the radio played it soooo much..................:hys:

I only learned that REO solo the day before and it's not hard, but I failed to realize I would run out of frets on the Strat until it was too late! LOL

And how dare you accuse me of not owning a Tele!

Wasn't me...........it was my alter ego Greta that made the Tele comment.

That's funny. You are the real deal bro. Great job on such short notice too. If that was nerve-wracking you sure didn't show it. Good job!

Sgt Thump, an unassuming br00tal metalhead by day, closet br0-country superstar by night.

Very nice work but I'm going to pretend like I didn't hear wagon wheel.

Just got asked to sit in again with the Johnny Henry Band at the St Louis Sammy Hagar show on Saturday, June 13th! Stage will be in the front area where you walk into the amphitheater.

Cant f’ing wait!

I’ll bring my 1960BC cab this time with the VH4.

I saw Chevelle on that stage back when STP played Riverport.

That's great man
I might actually be willing to go to that show now :D

Last time I saw the new set up was at Pointfest last year (to see Tree One Four). You had to go through the main gate and go right and in a bit and out into an overflow type area that was all flat concrete (possibly part of the parking lot). It was actually a dual stage set up so they could roll through bands quickly. The PA on that particular day was way too loud. Ear piercing. I had to move over the to side. Not saying that will be your set up for Sammy show.

I thought it would be a full band thing at the Sammy Hagar concert, but it ended up being a scaled down 3 piece with no bass. Everyone loved it. Lol

We planned to setup on a stage at the front gate, but it was supposed to storm. They moved us into the VIP tent which was still fun, but not the same. That part was a bummer.

Then the sun came out and it was beautiful the rest of the day. Lol
