Recommend me a load box for my Super Lead

Since I modded this amp, I don't think I need the Hotplate anymore. So in order to slave or do wet/dry I'm gonna need a load box of some kind. I know Suhr has the ISO box, but it's not a load box so it won't work for slaving. Ideally, I would like the flexibility to do both...

So what are you guys using?!

Are ya looking to setup a wet/dry rig in the kinda way Psychodave runs his?

If so, that wouldn't need a load box, just a lineout box You'd hook the lineout box between your SL speaker out and the cab. The lineout feeds your FX unit input, then the output of the FX go to a poweramp OR another amp's FX return, and out to another cab. That cab will be your wet side of the rig

If you want to actually load down the amp head with a load box, then you could build your own if you're handy with this stuff. Arcol make high powered resistors, just buy the necessary resistance and load it into a hammond box or onto a heatsink. You can always tap a lineout signal off of the loadbox using a resistor, a 5K Lin pot and a jack socket.

That's what I'm torn about...
I think the flexibility of a load box + line out would be great. I can slave and do wet/dry.

Dave, I need to bring my SL over your house and run it through your wet/dry rig... NEED TO! LOL!

Aracom PRX-150. I'm an attenuator junkie and nothing compares IMO.

Yeah it can, but it has a fixed impedence. I don't like mismatching impedence.

I use the Hotplate or an old Juice Extractor....for a load box why worry about the impedance? Just set your head to match and be done....

That's a good point... but now that I think about it, I don't think I want to use the Hotplate as a load box anyway because that fan drives me nuts. It would have to be wet/dry.

I have a Weber High Power Load Dump, works awesome as a load box, has an XLR out as well as a DI out if you are using it for recording.

Also works very well as an attenuator, and for $200, I highly reccomend it!

I had one and it worked great. I sold it only because I got away from the W/D/W thing. I'm getting to lazy these days to go through all that.

Yeah I wouldn't go lugging that kind of rig around. It stays put... safely... in Madison Square Basement where I hold nightly concerts.
