A friend of mine is opening a music school for kids (6-16 years old) with a focus on rock music. She needs several practice amps - both guitar and bass - for the classrooms. I don't know anything about the cheaper end of the spectrum - my practice amps are Bogner Uberschall and Diezel VH4.
I was thinking of going with Line6 modeling stuff - like Spider but perhaps you can suggest something better (as in less expensive and decent sounding).
Some things we are looking for in guitar practice amps are a 12" speaker, at least 2 channels (footswitchable), gain channel preferably of the modern variety (or at least hard rock type), inexpensive (we're fine with buying used but the amps must be under $200, ideally - under $130).
I don't know much about bass practice amps, so any suggestions are welcome.
