It has to be more transparent than the Sennheiser G2, Shure PGX, etc and not as cheap and flimsy as the X2.

...GO!

HEY!! AND whats wrong w/ the X2??!?? :gethim:

jeez, maybe I shoulda left that alone... :scared:

I've been wondering about this myself. Was going to pull the trigger on the Line6 XDS plus with one year financing from Sweetwater, but the they pulled it from their site.

I had two X2s. The cheapest and the most expensive. I think they were more transpaprent than my Sennheiser EW172 G2, but the bodypack is very flimsy. It's as if they took a Marlboro hardpack box, threw it in a deep fryer, and painted it black.  And it uses 9volt.

I think they've replaced it with a different design that isn't out yet... I think its been launched for the UK, not sure if it will be for the US too...

What was the issue with the transmitter being flimsy? I heard they were made of polycarbonates which should be very light AND very strong. Did it break on you?

In my experience the X2 is the most transparent wireless i have ever heard. I HAVE heard the supplied cable is a toy that is guaranteed to break and an upgrade should be considered priority.

I thought the X2 looked flimsy as well...but I've sat on it a couple times and soaked (realllllly soaked) it in water and it still works after 150+ gigs.

Plus it sounds great.

Nope. Neither of trasmitters died on me. They just feel very cheap and thin. AND I don't like the 9 volt.

I haven't sat on mine, but it's good to know my fat ass won't damage it. Now that I read that again...maybe I should take that as a challenge?!?!

X2 is by FAR the most transparent wireless I have ever used and I've had several high-end units.

By THIS:

Awesome and protects the transmitter on strap.
 works great. It's the only wireless I've used that's transparent. I have the rack one, so not too worried...unless I stepped on the body pack :aww:
I had the rack one too. I do think it's pretty transparent (more so than the other 5 wirelesses I've used), but I still think it lost attack and definition on my low B. And I don't like the limitations of the 9 volt.

Has anyone tried the new Sennheiser G3 172? Or the Shure SLX? Or the Audio Technica 3110? Or the AKG WMS 450?

What I was told about the Relay 30/60/90 series is that Line 6 had to scramble and withdraw the X2 series from sale in the rest of the world because they didn't have clearance to use the same frequencies as the US from the relevant regulatory agencies. As such there was already a lot of traffic in these freqs and the X2 wasn't quite as transparent as it should have been outside the US.

The Relay 30/60/90 (3 models and the numbers reflect the distance they'll work at) is being made specifically to work in Europe, Asia and Australia and won't be going on sale in the US.

Think I"m going to get one when they come out here....

Yeah I hate that flimsy pos. I just bought 2 X Wire 905s for a total of $175.

Friggin awesome wireless. Worth looking for.

The X2 is a great wireless...sounds like a cord, and it's not cheaply made...the box is a polycarbonate...stronger than some metals,,,,and a guy on here's done 150 gigs with his!! preconcieved perceptions are a bitch

Well I've had everything from the battery leads to the input jack go out on mine. I had no preconceived ideas. In fact it's not the shell I have had issues with. And through 20 years I haven't broken another wireless, but have on 2 of the X2s. :scared: :aww:
