Recommend me some must have pedals for a Plexi amp.

The MJM London I had was way too saturated, IMO. I wasn't the original owner so it very well might be that that's what the customer requested. The prices are nice, though, and I wouldn't mind owning more MJM in the future...

The AM Sunface sounded like a 50$ Big Muff to me :D
A Sunface doesnt sound anything like a Big Muff though.

Maybe it was messed up?

Analogman does the same thing though (a/bing original Fuzz Faces). I guess it just depends on what flavor you prefer. I really want to try the KR fuzzes!

For overdrives I like my mjm blues devil or klon with a strat and the maxon od820 was great with a les paul. Dod 250s are also cool with strats.

Im not sure which one it is. Ratter is letting me borrow it. It doesnt have the bias knob though. With a single coil bridge pickup with the tone knob rolled off and the tube driver going into a Marshall, its VERY EJish. Id say its rpetty essential because it delivers the smoothness unlike any other OD Ive tried before. Its pretty freaking cool. I dont have it set up like that though. Ive got with the Output on 4.5, Treble on 4, Bass on 2.5, Gain on 2.5. I havent tried it into my a clean amp (or my amp set clean) yet though. Ratter was telling em the treble can get harsh when you get the gain running high on the pedal.

As for the 200lbs of Tone, I havent been using it but its pretty amazing how EJish it sounds right off the bat. Its like a mix of EJ's fuzz and tube driver tone. Incredibly smooth. Like Ive said, its a fuzz pedal for guys who are not into fuzz and sounds like what you'd expect a fuzz pedal to sound like if you had never used one before.

That TD is one of the newer ones made recently by BK Butler. The bias knob is an upcharge option, AFAIK.

I just picked up a MJM BritBender this weekend. Mike outdid himself with that one!
I actually prefer it to my London.
Than makes 5 MJM's for me :)

Yeah, I would like to hear the Britbender because I sold the London after a/b'ing it with a Soul-bender. So I don't know if I just didn't like that London so much, or if maybe I just prefer 'bender types to FF types...

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, guess I'll try out a Tube Driver and Fuzz first

The OCD and Analogman are the most overhyped pedals, imo.
I bought into the hype
TGP'ers are like lemmings for those pedals.

So what did you not like about Analogman? Every pedal I've played from Analogman has been excellent, not all keepers, but I would definitely say he is one of the best pedal guys out there, especially for mods. I've tried toes of the boutique crap out there and I'm the first to admit that most of it is dogshit.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say dogshit, but there's a whole lotta people out there selling $300 tube screamers, fuzz faces, and rangemasters acting as if they reinvented the wheel...

I have an original OCD V1 and don't even consider the newer versions, It is still may favorite pedal, very transparent IMO

Right now his Britbender is my favorite for fuzzes.
The Blues Devil never leaves my board also. Think SRV: that is what the BD sounds like through a clean amp.
Another cool one is his RM Booster. I like it stacked with the BD also.

I went out and a/b'd a bunch of the 'Boutique" pedals at a local store (and even came home with a few, only to return them).
I was not impressed with the 2 Analogman fuzzes or the Mad Professor.

As for his mods, I've always preferred Keeley's.
I just don't like the 'lemming' mentality people have at TGP for him.

That's how I feel about "Lovepedal"

I'm neutral :)
There is nothing of his i really like or desire

Damn wish I can try out a bunch of these fuzzes in person, so many damn fuzz pedals! Guess i'll try out the BritBender first.

Also for Univibe clones, what do you guys recommend, I saw clips of the KR Megavibe and that thing sounds really great. Any others to consider?

Not to sound redundant, but check out the MJM Vibe.
My buddy is a Uni-Vibe/Hendrix fanatic, he owns many, including originals, and he says the MJM Vibe is the closest to the original he's heard.

I did hear Mike's(MJM) original Uni-Vibe and his 'clone' in person, side to side, and I couldn't tell the difference.
He lives 20 min from me, so i can A/B his pedals (MJM) with the originals he bases his on.

EDIT: and I should mention i am in no way affiliated with him.
I just like to promote products that i think sound great and that have a great customer service (MJM and Splawn)

Hehe I understand, listening to the clips now and it sounds killer.. I am thinking of picking up the vibe and maybe the brit bender in a few weeks when I get my next paycheck.

Also does anyone know how different the rack version of the tube driver is compared to the pedal? Looks like I got another addition to the rack
